[player_tooltip player_id='1131125' first='Kailey' last='Patzel'] of Newman Grove/St. Edward High School finished up the high school season as the top rebounder throughout Nebraska with averages near 18 RPG. Throughout each game, Patzel recorded about 8 offensive rebounds per game and 2 on the defensive end, showing her motor on both sides of the ball. Even with this early exit in the Playoffs, I believe that Patzel will hold onto the RPG lead as the Winter season comes to a close in a few weeks. She is recording nearly 4 more rebounds per contest than the next highest player and that distance is not going to be simple to make up in a few, short contests. This is an impressive feat from an individual standpoint that Patzel should be proud of. Not many can say that they averaged over 17 RPG for an entire 20+ game season.

If Superior High School wants to continue with their impressive season, players like [player_tooltip player_id='766580' first='Sadie' last='Cornell'] are going to have to continue to step up. Cornell competes as the PG for this group and she is the one that is looked at to make a play. Whether that be for herself or for someone else on her team. Cornell is a guard that I would consider the scoring first type but she does also seem to pass the rock pretty effortlessly. From watching Cornell in the Fall at our Showcase, to watching her again this Winter and I think that she is definitely someone that could compete at the collegiate level if given the chance. She plays some solid ball and she has a good foundation in place. She just needs to continue to pump up her efficiency overtime and the rest could be history. I'll be looking for Cornell to put up some nice numbers in their next contest. If she comes mentally prepared, Superior should continue to move forward.

Anytime you have heard about Millard South this season, you have heard about [player_tooltip player_id='758994' first='Abbi' last='Durow'] and what she has been doing. Durow, a 5'6 CG, can play the 1, 2, or 3 position depending on what is needed from her and who else is on the court around her at that time. She is a player that is the definition of a competitor and playmaker, especially when her team needs it the most. She seems to have this clutch gene, where she makes a lot of important attempts and that stands out. Durow will return for one more season with her South team and I'm sure that revenge will be on her mind. If she stayed hyper-focused on becoming the best version of herself, she is going to return as a Senior and be even more impressive.

Gibbon High School ended their season at the beginning of last week but someone from their squad that put together quite the year at the PG position was [player_tooltip player_id='1198611' first='Emma' last='Clark']. Clark is a 5'2 guard, that is a top rated APG player thourghout the state. She is someone that has a nifty dribble in the open court and she can create for others in a short amount of time in those moments as she comes down the floor. Clark finished off the season as a Top 10 player in APG throughout the state. While only being a sophomore on the hardwood this past year, this is promising. There is a lot of room to grow here and I think we having only seen the tip of the iceberg in a sense.

[player_tooltip player_id='766581' first='Rease' last='Murtaugh'] averaged over 23 PPG this Winter for her PLV High School team, demonstrating that she is going to be someone that might see the floor right away at the next level. Murtaugh is a go-getter, someone that plays with a positive attitude, and she is someone that wants to compete in all facets of the game. If you want to see the floor at the D2 level, you need all of these intangibles on your side and Murtaugh has that. This Winter she has shown that she is an enforcer in every definition of the phrase. As long as she continues to keeps that attitude, she will always be someone that is considered a tough competitor.
