I have no doubt that Gilmer County will make states. Ellyson is one of the hardest workers on the floor at all times! The non-stop motor that she plays with is exceptional! She has a quick release and will light it up fast from behind the arc. She has excellent court vision and she knows how to get her teammates open looks! Defensively, she disrupts opposing guards to no end! Pitino said, "Defense is about being relentless, from the first minute to the last." Allie is a relentless defender with a heart of lion! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Wheeling Central is a one seed in the Region 1, AA! They will take on the winner of Oak Glen vs Tyler Consolidated. I do predict that Wheeling Central will be a state qualifier. I'm 36 years old and I have one memory of Wheeling Central that I will never forget. I lost to them in the state championship game in 2004! Kaitlyn is the standout athlete that continues to put up big numbers! She poured in 24 points in a win over Charleston Catholic. She scored 35 points in their most recent win over Weir! Kaitlyn has a long list of milestones that she has accomplished and accolades that she has received. Kaitlyn provides a strong senior leadership that takes this Wheeling Central team to another level. I love the way that Blake approaches the game. She checks off the boxes that you want in a next level athlete. She plays with great energy and body language. She rebounds exceptionally well. She is hard to stop and most teams this season have not been able to contain her. She has great footwork and finishes strong through contact. She can stretch the floor and she's an athlete that will be on the scouting report, but I don't think that she will be stopped! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Wayne is a 2 seed in the Region 4, 3A! Wayne will play against the winner of Winfield vs Point Pleasant. I do believe that Wayne will be a state qualifier. It is tough to predict the AAA state champion, because this is a loaded bracket. You have other teams like Grafton, Nitro, &amp; Greenbrier East. However, I am going to give the nod to this Wayne team to win the state championship. After all, Wayne has [player_tooltip player_id='379522' first='Brooke' last='Adkins']. Wayne has nice depth on their team. You have to stay true and guard her well behind the three point line. She is a confident shooter that can light it up fast and in a hurry! She recently reached the milestone of 100 made threes! If you didn't know, she is only a sophomore! She can run the point or play the shooting guard position. Offensively, if you overplay, she will beat you on the back door. Defensively, she is aggressive and scrappy!
