In this article we highlight five prospects out of the 2027 Class in Iowa that have recently been added to our PGH system during this Update. Each individual is someone that has shown some promise in one way or another over their years on the Varsity floor. There is no doubt about that.

[player_tooltip player_id='1201885' first='Ava' last='Casey'] really came onto the seen this Winter with her IC - Liberty team as they made the 5A State Tournament in Des Moines. Casey is a smaller guard, that has a lethal reaction time with the ball in her possession. She would be someone that you can trust as a coach with the ball at all times as she doesn't turn it over, she doesn't get out of position within her offense, and she doesn't seem to have pressure impact her ability to make plays. All important factors when speaking about someone at the Point Guard position. She has also proven this Winter that she can hit deep three pointers off the catch when it's given back to her within the flow of things. This should be an impactful AAU summer playing up with her new program.

The proof is in the production with [player_tooltip player_id='1213363' first='Addison' last='Glass']. Glass wasn't someone that we knew much about to begin the year but she was extremely impactful on her team's run to their 2A State Title. Glass has better than average height a 5'10, she can move between the outside and inside the lane - demonstrating her versatility at high rate, and she tends to make good choices on or off of the ball. Glass came up BIG several times this past few months for the Blackhawks. She is going to be vital for her team's future success if they want to go back-to-back next season. Something they will be favored to do at this moment in time.

We mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='1190087' first='Lexie' last='Darrington'] recently because of her production during the State Tournament. Darrington is another one with good size at 5'10. She is more of a SF, that can also play the CG position if need be. She uses her height to her advantage whenever she can, primarily working within the perimeter on offense. Defensively, she can step out and stick with someone smaller because of her lengthy arms but she seems to be more comfortable near the basket. I will be able to see Darrington on the road this AAU season and that will help me access what her future might hold a little bit better but for now, she seems pretty solid.

[player_tooltip player_id='1215780' first='Lucy' last='Lueken'] has a long was to go but she is a name out of this 2027 Class to jot down from Wahlert Catholic. Lueken was the team's sniper this season from behind the three point line. She didn't start any contests because of the impressive guard play they possess but she came in and shot it at a 26% rate, 29% coming from the three point line off of the catch-and-shoot game. Over the years I'm sure that Lueken will continue to work on this efficiency from the floor, while also expanding her game. If she can do that, she is has a lot of promise looking onward.

It's safe to say that [player_tooltip player_id='1160666' first='Josie' last='Hutcheson'] of Mediapolis High School is a stat-stuffer. Hutcheson is coming off of a Sophomore season in which she averaged 16 PPG, 6 RPG, and 6 APG. The most impressive number being the APG mark of 6, while only turning the ball over around 1.1 times per contest. Hutcheson is just fast, smarter, and more motivated than those on the high school floor. You can tell that her athletic ability is one of the best in her conference off of the dribble and that's only going to get better with experience. I expect Hutcheson to put together another fantastic season next Winter and moving into her Senior year. She should put up some crazy numbers in the process but we will have to wait and see what those look like.

[player_tooltip player_id='1143192' first='Kyndall' last='Stigge'] does a fantastic job of getting to her spots defensively, beating the opponent and record a high number of blocks each night because of it. Stigge always plays defense with her head on a swivel, ready to move to the inside of the floor for an easy block. It's also important to note that Stigge doesn't seem to jump at pump fakes or attempts. Instead, she knows her size advantage and uses it by going straight up almost every time, always staying on the floor with heer two feet. Offensively, her size obviously helps for rebounds and put-backs. Other than that, she is consistently working hard to beat her opponent down the floor for an easy look while running the lane lines in transition. This is one of the taller prospects throughout Iowa and this 2027 Class. If she continues to work on her game, her size and ability could take her places.

If you are evaluating the mixture of height, three level ability, and smarts that [player_tooltip player_id='1169121' first='Morgyn' last='Bender'] brings to the floor, you see that she has a bright future when it comes to this game. Bender has a lightning quick trigger from deep on the catch, her length does help her beat her defender to the bucket off the dribble if she is over-played, and she understands where her spots are - where she is most comfortable letting it go offensively. This is a prospect that has the ability to switch onto different players defensively because of her athleticism and reach advantage compared to most. MP will return a few noteworthy recruits next Winter once again and this is one of them to know.
