To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover five individuals out of this 2027 Class in Nebraska, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.

Bennington made it to their Class's State Tournament, showing their poise and depth at every position basically. An individual for this group that has been playing Varsity minutes since she was a freshman is [player_tooltip player_id='920263' first='Skylar' last='Johnson']. Johnson is a shooter, that has an identical shot every time she lets it fly. There is never a moment when Johnson isn't prepared on the outside to let it go. She is usually around the perimeter, low in her stance, looking for an opponrutity to show her best ability. This Winter she did a great job of switching it up, not only shooting the trey ball and showing off her versatility a little more. I'm just hoping that can continue onward. In this Update, Johnson comes in at #12.

[player_tooltip player_id='777564' first='Kalyn' last='Bailey'] of Westview High School had one of the most impressive performances this Winter at the varsity level across the states of Iowa and Nebraska. It's not because she had an insane stat-line, it's how she did it. She did everything you want as a coach. She posted smaller prospect with ease, clearing them with her physicality. She attacked off the catch in the midrange area, never settling for a jumper but still hitting a few when the defense started to sag off. All while stepping out to the three point line and hitting a shot or two. If Bailey shows this advanced skill-set on a regular basis this AAU season with her [program_tooltip program_id='715717' first='Nebraska' last='Supreme'] program. She is going to have several recruiters reaching out with interest in the near future.

[player_tooltip player_id='777559' first='Haydin' last='Jackson'] had an impressive highlight at the State Tournament last week with her Bennington team. Jackson ended up dropping her defender off the dribble, hitting a nasty three pointer over that same player from the Wing position to end one of their quarters of play. Jackson has always been able to shoot it really well and she has always displayed that she has a deep bag when it comes to her handle. As she has gotten older, Jackson has learned that less is more. She is slowly becoming more twitchy and that's making it more difficult for defenses to stay in front of her. There is still a long way to go but I like what Jackson does when she competes. We will see where she can take things from here.

There is a lot to like from [player_tooltip player_id='1044837' first='Leslie' last='Garcia'] of Lincoln North Star High School. Garcia stands right around 6'0, she has a lot of athletic ability, and her coordination is is better than the average for this mixture. When she gets moving, it's like a bolt of lightning but that's not how I would explain her play-style. She is very calculated and knowledgable. If she has a simple, easy take to the hoop in a straight line, she will take it. She won't overcomplicate what she is trying to do and that might be one of her best attributes as a prospect. I'll make it out to see the CSS Bisons this AAU season on the Blue Star Circuit. They have more talented players than just Garcia but she is definitely one that is going to catch the eye of college recruiters this Spring.

Alma High School just made a big State run this past few weeks, showing their grit and competitive nature. Someone that made a huge impact on their season as a whole, especially during this meaningful run, was [player_tooltip player_id='865335' first='Kamryn' last='Scott']. Scott is a Point Guard that understands space, timing, and how to navigate as her team's leader. She has a fast dribble going either way to the hoop and she demonstrates that she can get crafty in the lane if her defender tries to cut her off. She can also shoot it a little bit from off the catch when it's rotated back to her. Scott might not be too well known just yet but she has promise and the aspirations to compete at the next level one day. If she stays locked in on those goals, she should accomplish them before you know it.

The best is yet to be seen out of [player_tooltip player_id='1060158' first='Emersyn' last='Graves'] of Northwest High School. Graves stands at 5'9, she has an impressive reach for that size, and she possesses some seasoned skill on the hardwood. Graves can handle, shoot, defend, and rebound. She primarily plays off of the ball, being someone that sits at the 2 or 3 position. She likes to play off of what her PG's create within their offense, letting things unfold naturally. Over-time Graves will have to get a little bit stronger but at this point in the process, she is someone that is going to raise some eyebrows. Especially if she competes on a solid AAU Circuit these next six months.
