The AAU season is around the corner, and that means it's almost decision time for the highly touted 2026 class. The 2027s will come into the forefront of coaches' minds, and we'll continue learning about the 2028 class as they climb the ranks. The rest of the month, I'll highlight a few kids to keep tabs on once the AAU season kicks off.

Nobody is higher on my list to watch than [player_tooltip player_id='843757' first='Karina' last='Klemz']. She's new to the Wisconsin scene and will play with Prime Nation, presumably on their 16U EYBL team. After moving to the state in November, results were up and down most of the season because she was figuring out how to play with a new team of kids she hadn't played with, within a group of kids who won a state title the previous year. Klemz is a 6'0 wing who showed flashes of being a solid spot-up shooter, rebounded at a solid level for the Warhawks, and used her length to make some plays on the ball defensively. She has plenty of room to grow these next few years but has the physical tools coaches will like at the next level.

The Sun Prairie native may be the most undervalued guard in her class. The 5'7 Sun Prairie East guard has a knack for putting the ball in the basket. She's a three-level scorer, and even when she picks up her dribble, she's long enough to make tough shots, use a step-through to get by defenders and stay composed to pass out of it. Vogler isn't a firebrand personality bouncing off the walls on the floor, so you may not realize how well she controls a game on the offensive end, but she was a first-team all-conference kid for a reason. There is strength she can add to her frame, especially once she gets into a college strength and conditioning program, but she's done well without being the most physical kid at the high school level.

I'm a sucker for kids who play like their hair is on fire, and Koch is just that. I think she plays a lot like current Truman State guard Katelyn Odem. The Beloit Memorial guard isn't as polished as Odem offensively, but the desperation, speed, and aggression they play with are comparable. At her best, Koch is a kid who can ruin a team's offensive game plan because Koch can feel like she's everywhere. The Purple can and will turn defense into offense multiple times per game. At times, the ferocity Koch plays with can lead to some foul trouble, and you hope that lessens over time, but you'd rather have to try and tune a kid down than tune them up.

The Manitowoc Lincoln transfer had to earn her stripes at Notre Dame. Breese wasn't a significant part of the rotation early in the season, but injuries changed the Tritons' season, and when Breese got her chance, she took it. The 6'0 forward earned a pair of double-doubles at the end of the season against Arrowhead, who went to state in D1, and Providence Academy (MN), who won their fourth straight AA State Title in Minnesota. There is something there with Breese, and we may not have seen it fully at this point, but her physicality, ability to attack off the dribble, and floor-spacing capacities are worth taking a look at this summer with her [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] team.
