To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover five individuals out of this 2028 Class in Iowa, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.

CR - Xavier won the 4A State Title this Winter with experience, strategic play, senior leadership, and a high level of belief. A freshman that stepped up in multiple occasions this season was [player_tooltip player_id='920273' first='Samantha' last='Dorrity'] at the SF/CG position. Dorrity played more of the 4 spot because of her natural height at 6'0 and her willingness to stay down low. Dorrity is a prospect that is very versatile so it's not shocking that this was her position but during AAU season, she will definitely be able to show her diverse skill-set a little bit more. Her ability to attack her defender off the catch or dribble stands out and stuff like that will be on full display. In this Update Dorrity sits right inside the Top 10 at #9. She will be competing with a new AAU program in North Tartan EYBL out of Minnesota. If she does her thing, she is sure to catch the attention of anyone in the building for recruiting purposes.

[player_tooltip player_id='880907' first='Natalie' last='Schechinger'] of IC - Liberty came into this Winter and played her role at the PG position to a T. She didn't start every contest over the last few months but she did impact each game with her tempo controlling dribble and knowledge of the sport from an IQ stand point. She was never flustered when she was receiving pressure in any situation and that helped her team calm down in some meaningful moments throughout the year. I think there is a lot of room for Schechinger to grow in this game over her career but she put together a respectable campaign as a freshman that she should definitely be proud of moving into the Spring/Summer AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='884847' first='Olivia' last='Baker'] is oozing potential with her lengthy reach, her ability to shoot the basketball from multiple levels, and her better than average motor. We haven't seen what Baker can do on the Varsity floor yet because she competes at the powerhouse that is Dowling Catholic but that should change up over the next couple of years. Baker is a prospect that has every tool in her tool box to be a completely rounded guard at the 2 or 3 spot on the floor with her. You ask it of her and she can make it happen. I am very interested to see how she does with her [program_tooltip program_id='779942' first='ETG' last='Midwest Elite 3SSB'] team coming up. She is going to play along with a talented roster so how she fits in will be key. As long as all goes to plan, she should be able to make some waves and some of that potential she possesses should come to the surface some more.

12.9 PPG on 41% shooting. 30% from three. 4 APG. These are some of the numbers that [player_tooltip player_id='1044928' first='Audra' last='Burbridge'] put together for Maquoketa Valley on their way to an overall 22-3 record, 11-1 in conference and a trip to the 2A State Tournament. Burbridge dished out a high number of assists each night, demonstrating her selflessness and ability to create. She only turned over the ball twice a game, leaving her with a +2 Assist-to-Turnover ratio. An impressive number for anyone that still has three years of high school ball left to go. I do have Burbridge as a college level prospect at the end of the day. If she keeps working and her leadership keeps up, she is going to have several options to compete at the next level before you know it.

If we are talking about the definition of a "Stock-Riser", [player_tooltip player_id='1091292' first='Kamryn' last='Fink'] of Highland High School fit that bill this Winter for her first season with her Huskies program. Fink, a 5'8 CG, does it all for her high school or at least she did this season. She scored at a veteran rate, she got others involved whenever she could, and she showed that she is someone that could compete with some players of a higher skill-level at times. It's always a big question to see how the individual follows up with things the next season so we will keep an eye out for that but so far, there is a lot to like here.
