<p><strong><em>Lady Volunteers Win 2nd Straight State Championship</em></strong>: </p>

<p>The Andrew Jackson HS Lady Volunteers have now won 2 straight state championships in Class 2A. The Lady Volunteers cruised this afternoon to an 89-36 victory over Eau Claire HS to finish the season at (28-3). </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='175322' first='Tamia' last='Watkins']</strong> finishes with a second straight state championship today. She averaged 30.1 ppg, 14.3 rebounds and 5.2 steals this season. Tamia finished the season with 12 straight games of 30+ points. Today Tamia finished her last game in a Lady Volunteers uniform with 31 points and 15 rebounds. </p>

<p>Watkins finished her career with 3,268 points and 2,006 rebounds in 6 years of varsity basketball. Tamia will play her college ball at Elon University next season. The left-handed forward was able to finish around the rim while filling the lane in transition at times today. Tamia was able to hit some short jumpers including a fadeaway. Tamia has the ability to challenge shots on the defensive end of the floor. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='383418' first='Ni'yonna' last='Asbelle']</strong> a junior had 30 points and 11 rebounds in today's win. Asbelle was able to score the rock from all 3 levels on the floor. Ni'yonna was able to slash to the cup or drive to the baseline. She was able to use a crossover move to race by defenders. Asbelle averaged 20.2 ppg, 5.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.6 steals this season. </p>

<p>Ni'yonna now has 1,781 points entering her senior season next year. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='395216' first='Emiley' last='McCall']</strong> is the 3rd member of the Lady Volunteers to finish with over 1,000 career points. McCall actually has 1,338 points to her credit in a Lady Volunteers uniform over 6 years. Emiley finished with 10 points today in the lopsided win. McCall is the table-setter at times on the floor and surely isn't afraid to take a charge when called upon. Emiley will attend Anderson University in the fall as a student.</p>

<p><strong><em>Lady Shamrocks Made Progress this Season</em></strong>: </p>

<p>The scoreboard certainly didn't say it at the end of the day here in the Florence Center. The Lady Shamrocks finished the season at (19-9) under Head Coach Ashley Patterson-Gilmore. This season was the 1st appearance for Eau Claire HS in 15 years to make the semifinals. The Lady Shamrocks last played in the State Championship Game was back in 1998. Eau Claire HS hasn't won a State Championship since 1993. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='378764' first='Destinee' last='Tiller']</strong> finished her career with 1,410 career points. Tiller a senior guard finished with just 4 points today. Destinee will have to figure out what sport she wants to play in college. She excels in softball, cross country, track and on the hardwood. Destinee finished the season at 20.8 ppg, 4.6 rebounds and 3.9 steals. </p>
