Who will be the team to beat this coming year. There has beens ome movement in 5A that has really made that question valid. If regions would not have changed it would likely be the same teams in teh discussion but insert two new teams and there is a lot of parody in 5A.

The Two New Teams

When these two teams dropped everyone was shocked because they both have big schools but opted to go down. Fremont has been a power in 6A every year and they have been in the conversation as one of the best teams in the state almost always. This coming season they will be among the best in the state as well as they return some players that will make a big difference. Fremont will brong back one of the best bigger wings in the state in Abby Christensen a player you can run your offense through and a player that actually plays the right way. She rebounds, passes and can score. She is a late in the shot-clock player you can turn to. Then you mix in [player_tooltip player_id='827419' first='Olivia' last='Surrage'] an athlete that has really developed her game. She rebounds, plays hard and has developed some shooting skills on the way. Those two alone will bring the energy every game. Look out for Fremont.

Pleasant Grove here they come. They will likely be one of the biggest teams in the state. They will be led by Tabi Clark the UVU Commit as she will actually be playing her natural position as a 3/4 this coming season. Clark has the skill set to take over and when her motor is one she can play both ways and really change the game. They will bring back sharp shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='796475' first='Makayla' last='Boyer'] who can handle and shoot at the high school level. [player_tooltip player_id='879706' first='Cash' last='Connors'] and [player_tooltip player_id='873756' first='Ellie' last='Adams'] come back as well. The big addition will be 6'6 [player_tooltip player_id='873276' first='Sutton' last='Villa'] who could be dominating games real soon. Her height is a game changer of course but she is skilled and will be one of the highest sought after bigs in the country in time.

The Team to Beat

Bountiful will once again be the team to beat. They return one of the most underrated recruits in the Class of 2026 in [player_tooltip player_id='796795' first='Milika' last='Satuala'] who is a power guard that can do it all. They bring back shooting with [player_tooltip player_id='827404' first='Maleah' last='Nelson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='864680' first='Mae' last='Johnson'] also returns. They look to defend their title but the road will be tough.

The Pack

Leading the pack will be West as they will be led by one of the best players in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='796794' first='Kylee' last='Falatea']. West returns size and skill with Tiana Fa and [player_tooltip player_id='796811' first='Tia' last='Pan']. Last seaosn their toughest schedule came from out of state. Look for West to be ready to make a run again.

Alta has a chance to make a statement as they are starting to get their players developed and you can see it from [player_tooltip player_id='796802' first='Alia' last='Baldassano'] and [player_tooltip player_id='927416' first='Sophia' last='Ceballos']. The addition of D1 commit [player_tooltip player_id='789082' first='Olivia' last='Stephens'] will help and this Alta team has guards that can do it all. Then you factor in [player_tooltip player_id='796804' first='Quincy' last='Kegel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='952618' first='Meg' last='Rawson'] and this team has a starting 5 and players that can come in off the bench. Alta will be tough!

Wasatch will bring back size that can matchup with anyone. [player_tooltip player_id='796470' first='Mahala' last='Speardon'] could dominate inside and Dani Garner is a player that has size and can run the floor. Just with those two alone Wasatch is a contender. [player_tooltip player_id='789068' first='Fili' last='Liava'a'] is another guard that could pick up the scoring that has graduated.
