Apache Memorial: Ball Handlers (Pt 1)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Insider Exposure hosted their live event called Apache Memorial Showcase this weekend in Raleigh, NC.  Twenty courts are going at the same time with tough competition and college coaches in the seats to watch it all.  I was able to catch the first couple of days of the event, so let's take a look at some of the ball handlers making their names known.</p> <!-- --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700"><br>Gabrielle Troy-Mebane was all over the court on defense getting in the way of her opponents as they tried to bring it up for some offense.  She would jump in front of passing lanes grabbing the steal and make the pass up the court to her teammate that had released.  She can pick the pocket of her opponents, too, when someone tries to dribble by her.  She handles the ball with speed and effectively uses her change of direction moves to get to the rim.</p> <!-- exceptional getting to the openings whether she was driving hard to the basket or setting herself up for the jump shot.  She sees the court well knowing how to attack the open lane or make a quick pass into the paint.  It seemed like she was constantly pushing the tempo on a fast break off of a turnover.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block off her on ball defense keeping her opponent in front of her and picking their pocket.  She explodes to the basket scoring off of these turnovers with ease.  She knows how to make adjustments drawing defenders towards her to open up some space for her teammates.  She comes out of nowhere getting the ball and making it in the hoop.  She has some nice range with her shot, too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph aggressive on offense getting to the rim and making her points count from the free throw line.  She knows how to make adjustments in the paint hitting her floater when needed or banking it off the glass.  Even working off the ball, she makes effective cuts getting into the open lane scoring off the pass as she goes hard to the rim.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
