The 2028 Class in Iowa is the deepest Class, as it pertains to skill-level, that I've seen while doing this job. At this moment in time, there are over 20 players that could compete at the D1 level one day if they work hard enough. Someone that is in that conversation from the Iowa City area is [player_tooltip player_id='880903' first='Addie' last='McLaughlin']. McLaughlin is a skilled PG with elite vision, a high-end passing ability, and a flame thrower from deep. This past weekend in AZ, McLaughlin led her 15U EYBL team with poise and control. She held tempo with the ball as she came down the floor on each possession and she always made the right play when the times called for it. Anyone that was in attendance at watch this group as a scout over the past few days, walked away knowing what McLaughlin can bring to the floor. It's smarts, calculated intent, and a high level of character.

[player_tooltip player_id='766450' first='Deni' last='Katcher'] received a shoutout this weekend in Milwaukee because of her play on the hardwood with her 17U [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] program out of Cedar Rapids. Katcher was a player of opportunity over the past couple of days. She was making the most of her opportunities will shooting the ball off the catch in both the mid-range and from deep, she demonstrated that she isn't afraid to put the rock on the floor while trying to get to favorable sports offensively, and she competed with stingy defense on that side of the ball. [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] teaches things the right way and Katcher embodies that as a hooper.

[player_tooltip player_id='1190087' first='Lexie' last='Darrington'] competes out of Iowa for high school ball and Nebraska for AAU ball. Darrington was a prospect we highlighted at the State Tournament a few months ago as her team brought home a 1A Title. Following that run, LD picked up where she left off by making smart moves and playing some efficient ball this past weekend. She wasn't the one who led her team in any particular category but she made her mark on every category in one way or another. A different way to put this is that she didn't do anything great, but she did EVERYTHING really well. She demonstrated that she was a well-rounded recruit on more than one occasion in the aspects of scoring, rebounding, and defending. It's early on in Darrington's career but she has shown a lot of promise up until this point. If she continues to build on her foundation, she is going to be someone we hear about for years to come.

I have been impressed by [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 2027 and what they have brought to the floor this AAU season. [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 2027 lost their star post presence in the off-season but they have refueled and reloaded their roster, which has led them to playing even better basketball it seems like. Someone from this group, that is playing up this year is [player_tooltip player_id='1221194' first='Gabi' last='Pedroso'] from CR - Washington High School. Pedroso is a big difference maker in the team's overall success. She has proven that she is a fantastic slasher off of the ball, she can finish her attempts in all different ways and that makes her a tough player to stick in front of. She also plays fantastic defense both individually and from a team aspect. This group has speed, grit, determination, and great coaching. Four things that usually lead to a lot of success throughout an AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='502100' first='Macy' last='Comito'], a 5'10 PG and Iowa State Women's Basketball commit, had a good showing this weekend in AZ with her [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'] 17U EYBL program. Comito was attacking and scoring of the dribble with contact, hitting three's of the catch in transition, creating and distributing to others in the middle of the floor, and she was always one of the first into the stands for a loose ball - demonstrating her effort levels at all times. The Attack handled every matchup that was put in their way this weekend and Comito was a notable part of that as a guard.
