Live Weekend #1 is in the books to start off the 2025 AAU season and what a weekend it was. We had action all over the Country, at every age level and it was awesome. Every sponsored circuit had their best foot forward over the past three days and because of that, there was some great ball to be watched.

In this article we detail five players, who reign out of the state of Iowa, that made a name for themselves this weekend with some college coaches in attendance.

When you compete on a loaded team for your age group, it can be hard to stand out on either side of the ball. That's just how the game works when you compete at a high level. Someone that did a great job of holding her own over the past two days in Waukee, while also registering some impressive numbers in her efforts was [player_tooltip player_id='777236' first='Baileigh' last='Uthoff'] of Missouri Phenom 17U - Iowa. Uthoff had multiple contest this weekend in which she put up impressive numbers in the scoring departments or in the rebounding departments. Either way, Uthoff was making her presence known at a consistent rate and with being on a team that potentially has 4-5 D1 players, that especially impressive. This was a great first weekend to lay the foundation for the rest of this Spring/Summer campaign for this Phenom group.

Addison Marcus of Osage High School and [program_tooltip program_id='866654' first='Iowa' last='United'] AAU only comes in around 5'9 but she competes with a chip on her shoulder and an aggressive attitude. These two things are what allow Marcks to have consistent success as an undersized forward. I guess undersized is a tough word but Marcks isn't the tallest at her position so that means she has to be smart, crafty, and willing to get her hands dirty. All things that we saw this weekend with her play. Marcks was a surging force underneath the hoop, attempting to control any and all situations that might be happening in the painted areas. This is one of the first times I've seen Marcks compete for several minutes at a time on the floor at once and I like what I saw. If she keeps up this type of play, it's going to translate big time come this upcoming Winter at Osage High School.

I was unfamiliar with [player_tooltip player_id='1238790' first='Adrienne' last='Sears'] game but I am not anymore. Sears was a constant this weekend in AZ as she played up a grade level on All Iowa Attacks 15U EYBL team. Sears was scoring from the wing off the dribble, hitting open jumpers off the catch, taking rebounds coast-to-coast, all while dishing up some crafty assists when those opportunities presented themselves in both the half and full courts. To play up on this team in itself is impressive. They are a group coming off of a Nike EYBL Jr. National Title as 8th graders so you know that they are legit. So that Sears is making waves while doing work with this group is important.

If you are familiar with [player_tooltip player_id='557354' first='Jenica' last='Lewis'] and what she can bring to the floor, then this weekend of EYBL ball in AZ won't surprise you. Lewis had the full arsenal on display in every game her team competed in over the past three days. In some contests she was unstoppable from the outside, hitting jumper after jumper from deep. In other contests, she was creating off the dribble, facilitating, and playing some next level defense on her personal matchups. Lewis is in no rush to commit and that's been a known fact for a while now. When this AAU season comes to a close, I'm sure whoever lands her for their future is going to be ecstatic.

This offseason Lillie Spicer made the move to All Iowa Attack for her Spring and Summer AAU season. Since, Spicer has moved up a grade level to compete on one of the Attacks 11th grade EYCL teams. In Arizona over the weekend, Spicer was marked down as holding her own in the each contest that her team played within the minutes she registered. Which makes sense. This is a back-to-the basket prospect, that stands at 6'0, who isn't afraid to physically punish anyone in her way to the bucket. She wants all the smoke and that is something you love to see. Good showing from Spicer in a big event out West.
