On Saturday, April 19th, I drove to Powers Catholic High School for the [program_tooltip program_id='715753' first='Michigan' last='Mystics'] “Get Ready” tournament. This was a perfect opportunity to see Mystics' best 2026-2028 grades. A few clubs that I haven't had the chance to see yet this spring also attended, making it a productive day for evaluation. I bounced around between the aux and main gym throughout the day, trying to see portions of games from all the teams. Many college coaches were present at the facility, and because there are prospects on every Mystics team that can help a college program at some level, I always enjoy seeing their teams compete. Here are several guards who made a difference with their gritty defensive effort and playmaking on the offensive end.

Grace looked like the speedy Road Runner for Mystics 2027-S40 on Saturday. She chased the ball all over the court and was a huge factor on the offensive end. Gigi swished two triples up top, sprinted inside to corral multiple offensive rebounds, and scored a sweet reverse. Gigi threw passes on a rope with both hands comfortably and drove hard into a defender's chest to score a tough layup. She swiped the ball away on defense and finished the play with a left-handed layup.

Myah is a gritty guard for Mystics 2027-S40, whose effort on both ends stood out at Mystics Get Ready. She drove hard downhill to score an and-one through contact and added another layup off two feet. Myah wrestled for loose balls and created steals on the defensive end. She's a threat from beyond the arc and drilled a straightaway triple.

Leah looked fearless on the court for Mystics Jackson 16U at the Get Ready tourney. She agitated opposing guards with her pressure, swiped the ball away to score a layup, and clamped both hands on the ball to tie it up. Leah knocked down a corner jumper and converted a strong and-one layup through contact with her left hand. She's shifty with the ball and effective at setting up teammates to score.

Aubrey set the tone defensively with her aggressive ball pressure for Mystics 2027-P24 at Get Ready on Saturday. She generated steals and stopped dribble drives with her quick feet. Aubrey created space from defenders with her crossover combinations and has a burst when she drove downhill. She created scoring for teammates, dishing out assists, and showed her outside range by draining a corner 3.

Cecelia had a solid day for Mystics 17U Jackson at Get Ready on Saturday. She's a perimeter threat who effectively drives downhill to score off the dribble. Cecilia knocked down a smooth corner 3 and drove with a burst to score a strong and-one layup through contact, then knocked down her free throw. She used a quick crossover to beat her defender on a drive and forced a foul. Cecilia actively deflected passes and worked hard to pressure the ball on defense.

Elise is a playmaker on both ends, and she had a great day for Mystics Jackson 16U at Get Ready on Saturday. Elise was impactful in every category. She stole the ball away on defense and finished the play with a left-handed layup. Elise knocked down a smooth step-back elbow jumper and another jumper from the corner. She closed out full speed to block a shot on the perimeter. Elise dished out quick and accurate passes for assists to teammates and converted free throws. Elise energized the team, flexing her muscles with a strong left-handed finish through a foul, and finished the 3-point play from the charity stripe.
