Gigi is a do-it-all guard, and she energized Team 8 with her toughness, effort, and playmaking at the PGH Expo. Gigi buried a straightaway three and finished a full-speed layup in transition off two feet. She earned a trip to the foul line after outworking a defender to secure an offensive rebound and knocked down the free throw. Gigi created steals on defense with her ball pressure and was an effective facilitator. She doesn’t do too much, shares the ball, and has great touch on her floaters.

Grace flies around the court and has a knack for the basketball. She’s scrappy on defense and a fearless downhill driver. Grace has an extra gear off the dribble, dishes out strong passes, finishes with excellent touch, and chases down rebounds. She’s a two-way point guard who shares the ball and will be a playmaker to pay attention to at The Expo.

Grace looked like the speedy Road Runner for Mystics 2027-S40 on Saturday. She chased the ball all over the court and was a huge factor on the offensive end. Gigi swished two triples up top, sprinted inside to corral multiple offensive rebounds, and scored a sweet reverse. Gigi threw passes on a rope with both hands comfortably and drove hard into a defender’s chest to score a tough layup. She swiped the ball away on defense and finished the play with a left-handed layup.

Gigi is a scrappy sparkplug for the Rams. She energized the team by turning a steal into a strong and-one layup in the paint. Gigi added a tough layup off two in the paint, pushed the tempo with her dribble, and made plays with her high-effort on defense at The Platform.

Gigi showed her athleticism and downhill scoring ability on Sunday at the Mitten Summer Showdown for Mystics-Chosen. She elevated high up to grab offensive rebounds in the paint and finished a layup off two. Gigi drove hard through the teeth of the defense to score off two and split defenders to convert a left layup. She is a tough defender and will be a key guard for Holt this winter.

rose to the occasion at the Freshman Showcase last weekend and this time she did it against upperclassmen. During the read and react offensive segment she stood out as a player who “got it” quickly and could finish. She demonstrated her lateral quickness and agility during defensive slides. In the stationary ball handling segment her handles were at the top of the group and she had no problem squaring up with her eyes straight ahead. In live play she used a low pound dribble crossover to freeze her defender and get to the rim. Gigi is a shooter; she hit pull up 3’s and can do it off the bounce or catch. What made her day most impressive however, was her defense and passing. Gigi blocked the shot of a much taller college prospect not once, but twice. She has the awareness to sink into the post and cause turnovers. Offensively, she used an inside out crossover then converted a contested left hand floater on a taller defender. Gigi (once again) threw a one handed rocket pass in transition and she can do it with either hand. I continue to be impressed by this 2027 CG from Holt.

For the second straight weekend I enjoyed watching Gigi go out and put on a show, this time it was against an older group. She literally does everything out there as a two way player who will not shy away from the spotlight. Gigi put together another complete performance today and will be an exciting prospect to watch with Holt this season.

Grace is a guard who really started to heat up and hit her stride as the day went on Sunday. Some notes I had on her Sunday: layup, layup, 1 hand rocket bounce pass for assist, oreb and mid-range pull up jumper, confident ball handler. She hit a wing 3 pointer, floater in front of the basket and floater baseline. She was a constant “wolf” from behind stealing the basketball. Grace had an impressive day Sunday and will be a prospect on the rise in Holt’s program. Read more on her day here.
