The 14U teams were amongst the most competitive divisions to watch all weekend. I had a couple hours throughout each day to stop by and check out a couple games, and those that I watched left me with an impression that this class/division has some good prospects in the pipeline. Below are some 14U players that caught my eye this weekend at the Romeoville location.

This kid has something going for her, and the confidence she has is top tier. But she also seems to be very coachable. There was a moment on the bench where her coach was giving her positive and constructive criticism, and she dialed in, listened, and got right back in the game without being upset after a tough conversation. Things like that stick out to me more than stats. A tough prospect that is gearing up for some big moments this summer. The talent is high, and the potential matches it.

There is so much aggression and patience with Brennan. Her ability to make plays out of nothing and to stay composed even after getting beat up was a strong statement of who she could become as a player. She had a ton of moments in the game I saw of her that proved her upside is strong.

Benet is always the place where talent can shine and young talent can develop, and Taylor will be in the mix of that. Her game is still raw, but you see flashes of how tough of a player she is physically, and skillfully she can turn into a 2/3 level player that can score well. Keep an eye on this kid over the next couple of years. The potential is there.

Skelton is probably done growing, and if she isn't, her upside is huge. She showed on multiple possessions that she can hang with the stronger players, and she hit some crucial shots down the wire that displayed poise. If the outside work is there, Ashley can be a key piece to the Prospects basketball program over the next couple years.

My first glance at Morgan was last year in November at a camp, where she was clearly one of the most skilled players there. She took her ball off to the side during the breaks and was working on her game with some of the other coaches. That right there showed me how much of a hard worker she is. Fast forward to now, and that hard work was put on full display. Jones is skilled for her age, and with youth on her side, she has a ton of time to sharpen and polish everything she has and more. Excited to see how her game comes together before she gets into high school.

Ratliff is playing off pure raw potential, but even that is at a higher level than some of the girls in her class. In the game that I caught of her, a lot of her scoring moments were near the rim, but she still showed the ability to knock down a corner three when left open. Strong upside.
