This past Saturday, the Nashville Public vs. Private game, hosted by Next Level Basketball Academy at Valor Collegiate Prep, was a huge success. Young ladies from the area , gathered to put on a show one final time for the city. The gym was packed as area participants put on their high school jerseys one more time to show out. This event was fun, electric, and definitely is one I would recommend to play in or attend.

The afternoon kicked off with a 3 point contest leading the way. There was also a boys 3 point contest , a dunk contest, and a boys All Star game, but we will just focus on these young ladies. The participants in this event got the crowd hyped as they showed everyone in the building they had downtown skills.

Here are the girls who participated in the 3 point contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='506248' first='Molly' last='Brown']- Lincoln Co.

[player_tooltip player_id='496294' first='Abby' last='Bryan']- Lincoln Co.

Riley Phillips- McGavock

[player_tooltip player_id='416075' first='Kaydence' last='Wisniewski']- Oakland

[player_tooltip player_id='890205' first='Samantha' last='Lee']- Page

[player_tooltip player_id='409021' first='Sophie' last='McInturff']- Webb Bell- Buckle

[player_tooltip player_id='816042' first='Amiyah' last='Thompson']- MTCS

[player_tooltip player_id='810655' first='Addi' last='Ruffin']- Goodpasture

Swish. Swish . Swish. The ball found the bottom of the net at a consistent clip from each participant. Each girl was getting the crowd on their feet as they battled it out. One by one, the girls received an ovation for their performance. In the end, it came down to two Lincoln Co. girls, Molly and Abby, who tied each other and pushed the competition into extra rounds. In the end, Molly pulled it out, winning by one over her high school teammate in the extra round that determined the winner.

Next, it was time to kick off the All-Star game. (Side note, this game was a true competitive game that had an electric atmosphere along with a DJ that kept the athletes and crowd engaged and hyped. Shout out to DJ for making that bomb playlist. Lastly, from crowd members who attended other All Star events, they all said this one was the best one amongst them all. Big shoutout Jeremy Pope for doing this one.) Though there were some athletes who couldn't participate due to conflicts and injury , it was still a great event with talented kids who came out to rock the gymnasium.

Private school roster

[player_tooltip player_id='810655' first='Addi' last='Ruffin']- Goodpasture

[player_tooltip player_id='409021' first='Sophie' last='McInturff']- Webb Bell- Buckle

[player_tooltip player_id='409044' first='Reghan' last='Williams']- Ezell Harding

[player_tooltip player_id='1225120' first='Olivia' last='Onyemobi']- Ezell- Harding

[player_tooltip player_id='1058157' first='Aryanna' last='Ridgeway'] - Ezell Harding

[player_tooltip player_id='816042' first='Amiyah' last='Thompson']- MTCS

[player_tooltip player_id='889980' first='Riley' last='Phillips']- McGavock (due to injuries, she participated with this roster)

Public school Roster

[player_tooltip player_id='506223' first='Madyson' last='Elliott']- East Nashville

[player_tooltip player_id='506248' first='Molly' last='Brown']- Lincoln Co.

[player_tooltip player_id='496294' first='Abby' last='Bryan'] - Lincoln Co.

[player_tooltip player_id='890205' first='Samantha' last='Lee']- Page

[player_tooltip player_id='810612' first='Mary' last='Elizabeth Fox']- Page

[player_tooltip player_id='409016' first='Jayda' last='Bernard']- Stewart's Creek

Cam Ward- Stewart's Creek

[player_tooltip player_id='416075' first='Kaydence' last='Wisniewski']- Oakland

Right from the jump, the teams went back and forth, trading buckets. Normally, in events like this, there is a lot of individual ball and no defense. Nah, this game was definitely different. The girls shared the rock, defense definitely did exist, and this game had the feeling of a district tournament game. One by one, it was either a 3 or a nice move to the basket as teams put up points left and right. Talk about putting on a show, these young ladies were definitely doing that for both family and friends. I mean, they were going at each other, not backing down, as they battled each and every possession. In the end, the public school prevailed, winning as they were the first to hit the target score in the 4th quarter. [player_tooltip player_id='506223' first='Madyson' last='Elliott'], the Kennesaw State signee, was named MVP.

This event showcased not only talented young ladies but also girls who will be competing at the next level. The thing I loved seeing was the respect each of them had for the game and for each other. Afterward as they shook hands and took pictures one final time, you could sense the true sisterhood of the women's game was in the building. Great event to cap off a sensational season for the class of 2025.
