Southeast United: Apache Review Part 2

In this article, we continue with part 2 of our focus on [program_tooltip program_id='715943' first='Southeast' last='United'], and the performance of some of their top prospects. The players below had some special moments and here is the summation of their performance during the live period at Apache Memorial.    [player_tooltip player_id='864101' first='Jayda' last='Parker'] is one impressive looking player on the floor and she had the game to match. Defensively,  Parker was a presence in the paint that caused the opponent to be concerned all game long. Playing at the free-throw line on offense, Parker did a good job of protecting the ball and making good decisions. Early on. Parker was most effective from the perimeter, but as the game went on, Parker got it going inside. In crunch time, she was crucial with a layup under the rim, and an up and under move that drew the foul and earned a trip to the charity line, where she was money.     [player_tooltip player_id='1207160' first='Nalah' last='Smith'] looked nice out there and was very effective on both ends of the floor. Smith was a problem at the free-throw line with the offensive running through her. Smith made one great decision after another. She passed to the perimeter for the open jumper, she dumped in down to a cutting teammate, and then she attacked the rim with a vicious left handed drive. Defensively,  Smith knows the paint is her domain. She had impeccable timing on blocking shots and was a force on the offensive boards. Smith used her length and quickness to get to the ball. Smith also showed great speed in the transition game. She covers ground in a hurry.  In the offensive set, she was also good in the pick and roll game. She did a good job of taking advantage of the mismatch when the guard switched to her.       Jaelle Griffin did a good job feeling the lane and scoring on a nice layup. She ran the floor well and coverted on layups and on midrange shots.  Defensively, Griffin played good man to man defense and pressed up aggressively on the ball handler.  Griffin has some nice handles and a killer crossover.  She showed the ability to get to the rim and in a hurry.  She has the ability to draw the foul and get to the free-throw line. Griffin also moves well without the ball and knows how to get open and score o the inside.     Sanai Forrester Jhagroo was impressive with her ability to press up on defense.  Jhagroo had very good court vision and made some very nice entry passes.  The young guard is special in transition and shows a lot of coordination.  She has soft hands and can really attack the basket.   Jhagroo does a good job on defense preventing the opponent from driving to the basket.  She was very good on the help side defense.   Jhagroo is a quick and a smooth player who plays on both sides of the ball.     [player_tooltip player_id='973912' first='Emily' last='Wilson'] showed some nice ball IQ on the court. She has a good understanding of spacing on the court. She has the ability to read the defense and cut to the open spot. She made the catch in the open space and pulled up with a sweet mid-range shot. Her ability to put the ball down and stop and pull-up for the mid-range jumper was deadly. Wilson does a good job of moving the defense with crisp passes. Her passing ability, her ability to see the floor and her ball IQ allow her to anticipate and play a step ahead. She has a keen sense of when to cut back door for the pass and layup. Wilson showed some toughness down low with the offensive rebound and put-back, and showed versatility when running the point to initiate the offense. Wilson connected on several mid-range shots and one was so smooth it elevated her mid-range shooting to "beast mode". Her mid-range shot is potent, lethal and efficient!!     [player_tooltip player_id='515087' first='Kellisia' last='Grant'] loves to attack the rim she was a pest on the defensive end.  Grant has a lot of skillset. She can handle the ball and she rebounds well from the guard position.  Grant has the ability to play the one or the two and has very good ball handling skills.  One play to comes to mind was when Grant led the break and zipped a pass to the shooting guard on the baseline for an easy two points.  Grant is versatile.  She even played with her back to the basket and showed she can pick a defense apart with her court and pass ability.
