The 2025 Cagers Invitational was a great experience again this year. 26 different travel clubs attended with college coaches from D2, NAIA, D3, and JUCO programs recruiting both days. There was comprehensive live media coverage both days by LBI and PGH at the tournament, with 20 hours of in-court coverage by PGH this weekend! The attending teams truly received the best possible tournament coverage at the event–every 2029-2026 team was evaluated and watched this weekend. Nearly 60 prospects will be included in my post-tournament write-ups this week, with nearly half being written about for the very first time. That's what Prep Girls Hoops Michigan is all about–discovering new prospects from every club in the state who have the potential to play college basketball at any level. The Cagers Invitational is the perfect exposure tournament for most teams in the state. The organization, staff, format, and competition are terrific. I will continue to support it annually, and I hope to see independent travel clubs take advantage of this great event in 2026! Coming to this tournament gives your players a great chance to put their best abilities on display in front of college scouts, coaches, and trusted media sources. Why Should My Club Attend?

Whether it be an explosive downhill burst, lights-out 3-point shot, finishing finesse, precision passing, tough defense, or competitive fire, these 2026 guards all made plays that showed their potential as prospects at the Cagers Invitational.

Emersyn was great last year at the Cagers Invitational and she doubled down with another stout tournament for [program_tooltip program_id='714458' first='Michigan' last='Cobras'] over the weekend. Her floater game was on point. She dropped in many throughout the tournament, including a tough one over a 6 footer, absorbing hard contact. She chased down her missed shot to secure an offensive rebound and converted free throws with confidence at the line. Emersyn drove with a determined burst past defenders and finished her layups in contested situations. Her active pressure caused steals on defense and she did a great job of handling the ball confidently with both hands.

Sheridan was expected to have a strong showing at the Cagers Invitational, and that's exactly what she did for [program_tooltip program_id='712670' first='Michigan' last='Storm Elite GUAA'] 17U. Sheridan used her speedy crossover dribbles to change directions and create space from defenders. She was in the zone, draining threes, mid-range jumpers, and attacking relentlessly to score transition layups after stealing the ball. Sheridan's all-out effort on both ends and hot scoring streaks jumped out at the tournament.

Elle was warming up in between games, swishing 3-point jumpers off of crossover combinations, and I thought to myself, "that girl has to be a serious hooper"--she proved that during her games with [program_tooltip program_id='932068' first='Michigan' last='Prospects'] 2026-Glime. Elle is a sniper from the perimeter, she buried triples from the corners and up top with balanced feet and textbook form off the hop. One of Elle's plays that got me out of my seat was when she used a quick shot fake on the wing, took a lateral dribble, and continued into a smooth 3-point shot that found nothing but nylon. Elle pressured the ball and denied cutters on defense, deflecting a pass to secure a steal. She finished a swift layup off two feet in transition and was a hidden gem at the tournament.

Caiya was a point guard at the Cagers Invitational that few defenders were able to stay in front of. She penetrated gaps using sudden, explosive dribble bursts for [program_tooltip program_id='932068' first='Michigan' last='Prospects'] 2026-Glime. Caiya blew by her defender with a quick crossover dribble and utilized a nifty high-pick-up move to convert the contested layup. She changed directions on a dime, swarmed opposing guards with her ball-pressure, and scored a left-handed layup off two feet in transition. Caiya drives fearlessly to the basket and is a point guard to keep an eye on this spring.

Parc had a huge season for Grand Blanc, and that confidence has carried into the gym this spring with [program_tooltip program_id='712670' first='Michigan' last='Storm Elite GUAA'] 17U. The team faced tough matchups in Hamilton last weekend, and when I watched game film, she was one of the guards who stepped up under adversity to give the team a spark with her perimeter shooting and ball-handling against pressure. At the Cagers Invitational, Parc was locked in--she made the defense pay with many 3-pointers and knocked down clutch outside shots in key moments. Parc dished out strong passes to teammates and attacked defenders with her dribble.

Kaylyn caught fire in the first 3.5 minutes of a game as she drilled three straight triples to start a 9-0 run for the [program_tooltip program_id='1243619' first='Clarkston' last='Warriors'] at the Cagers Invitational. She knocked down five triples in the game with a confident stroke off the hop. Kaylyn worked hard defensively to generate steals and keep the ball in front of her. She connected on three-pointers throughout the tournament and is a prospect who showed her next-level potential over the weekend.

Mallory missed her junior high school season due to injury, but she looked back to peak form at the [program_tooltip program_id='713074' first='Michigan' last='Cagers'] Invitational for [program_tooltip program_id='962126' first='Lady' last='Mustangs']. Mallory worked hard on both ends of the floor, grabbed steals, and used a shifty crossover to score a contested layup with a burst to the basket. She showed her outside range, swishing a corner three and fired strong passes over defenders to teammates. Mallory played with toughness and determination that reminded me of why I liked her potential so much when she first started playing travel ball as a freshman.

Madison was voted a team captain as a sophomore. The qualities and impact that earned her confidence from her head coach and teammates at Lapeer showed at the Cagers Invitational. She competed hard throughout the tournament regardless of the opponent or score. Madison drove hard to the rack to convert a soft layup off the glass and blew by her defender with an explosive crossover to finish a layup in traffic. Madison used a crossover dribble to gain the edge driving baseline and made a great kick out pass for an assist. She defended hard, turning defenders with her quick feet, while bringing positive energy to the team. Madison is a bright guard with aspirations to enter the surgical field after high school.
