Clash of the Clubs: Get to know these 2028 and 2029 (Part 1)

Clash of the Clubs was loaded with lot of teams and even better lot of talented players. Starting this off with featuring some players int he Classes 2028 and 2029. Check out 7 Oklahoma players and 1 highly ranked player from Arkansas. I know I may have missed you and if so tag me with those highlights so I can check you out. X @coachjvick1 IG @coach_jvick    A old school classic Point Guard. Scores, steals, rebounds, and assist, doing whatever it takes for the team to get the W. Steady handles with the ball using a quick through the legs and a pocket dribble to attack the defender shoulders. The type of player that is reading the second level defense looking for the layup, drop or kick to the open player. The outside shot was on point but really liked the mid-range jumper she brings off the dribble.   Lock down defender on defense that makes it tough to blow by with the dribble. Aggressive off the ball defense leading to steals for points off turnovers. Excellent defensive rebounder that needs no outlet to start a fastbreak off misses.     A dynamic scorer off the dribble that makes tough shots look easy at times. Patient ball handler that waits for the defense to get settled before hitting them with a crossover to attack the rim. Great body control that hangs in the air at times to find the space to shoot the shot. Showed a nice mid-range pull up jumper off the dribble around the free throw line. An up-tempo guard that can weave her way in the open floor scoring on the coast-to-coast basket.   A talented 2029 that had no difficulties scoring this weekend while playing up. Keep an eye on this young lady as she will have a impact on her high school program next season     List at 6'0 but the wing span that Taylor has gives her outstanding length of defense. On the low post showed good footwork being patent giving what the defense gave her. Nice footwork on the up and under moves finishing with a step through move or a long sweeping hook off the glass. Gets out break running rim to rim looking for that up the court layup. Soft hands around the paint that seemed to catch the tough passes.   On defense she is a game changer at the rim. Long wing span and straight up jump makes her a excellent shot blocker. When watching Taylor play you can just see the growth that is taking place. A 2028 to keep a eye on the few years.     I am a fan of player that just play that gritty defense and [player_tooltip player_id='992462' first='Lilly' last='Gentry'] is one of those type of players. Nothing comes easy for the opposing team when Lily is guarding the ball or defending the passing lanes. I do not have stats but I could see where she has the possibility of recording double double with points and steals.   A high level 3-point shooter that is a must find on defense. Moves without the ball relocating looking for the kick out. Attacked the wings slicing in and out of the defense to get the best shot possible.     Another highly ranked player from Arkansas that I am seeing for the first time. An excellent shooter from outside the 3-point range that needs no space to the shot off. As a Dribble Drive or 5 out coach I really like it when I see a player that attacks the paint off the wing and Olivia does just that. She makes things happen on offense by getting to the paint Creating scoring opportunities for herself and teammates. In transition offense she is attacking the baseline. A pocket hesi with change of speed is usually the move that freezes the defender. Then it is either a layup or with the vision hitt9ing the backside teammate filling the lane.   On defense she is a tireless worker on the top of that 1-3-1. Active hands and feet creating a steal for herself or a teammate. Took me now time at all watching her play to realize I was watching a highly ranked player.     The first possession on both ends of the floor Lakyn ended up on the floor. First on offense dropped her head and attacked the rim to draw a foul. Second time was for a loose ball under the rim. Both possessions set the tone as the physical style that she plays with. Good ball handler in transition that made the pass up curt to a teammate for the layup. A good spot up 3-point shooter that also has the shooting capabilities to shoot over the screen.   Solid defender that showed the understanding of man concepts with far corner backside help line defense.     A player that caught my eye with the calmness she showed at the point guard spot against the press this weekend. A player that I have seen before the high school season who development has continued to grow. Great vision up the floor against the press that always had eyes up looking to the open player up the floor. Knocked down the outside with range.   A physical guard that did not mixing it up on defense. Good rebounder that chasing the ball off the rim to gain possession. Quick break on the off-passing lanes leading to steals and layups. A player that I thought play this weekend was deserving of some recognition.     A combo guard that just does about everything you want on a team. The versality ranges from being a shooter on the outside to posting up smaller guards on the block. A very strong guard that did not shy away from defender a much taller player.   A player who quietly fills up the stat sheet. At the end of game, she has 10 pints, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Basically, the type of player that does not need the offense built around her she will go get hers.
