One of the unique benefits of our Michigan State Tournament was that every age group and travel club had an equal opportunity to be seen, evaluated, and covered by our Prep Girls Hoops Michigan scouting team, with all teams playing a minimum of four games at the same fieldhouse (several teams played five games). College coaches and Midwest Recruiting Resource were in the building both days, which amplified the quality of the experience for the teams and athletes.

Our championship bracket format allowed teams from every age group to compete for the ultimate prize of Prep Girls Hoops Michigan State Tournament Champion. Seeing the victorious teams holding their massive, glistening basketball trophy, while smiling in their tournament champion t-shirts, was a reminder of why I love Prep Girls Hoops and the memorable experiences we provide at our tournaments.

Hayden had a phenomenal first day of the PGH Michigan State Tournament, and she followed that with an exclamation point on Sunday. When she wasn't making plays on the court, Hayden was standing up on the bench, energizing her teammates with her high energy. Hayden spun the defender multiple times with her dribble to score a strong and-one layup in the semifinals, then knocked down her free throw. She finished a layup off a screen, converted free throws, secured offensive rebounds, and put in an offensive rebound put back in the Championship game. Hayden's defense was a factor again as she stole an inbounds pass and heaved the ball down the court for the go-ahead assist late. She earned All-Conference First Team honors as [program_tooltip program_id='714852' first='Ohio' last='Xtreme'] finished a perfect 4-0.

Annika had a breakout PGH Michigan Tournament with MBA UA Rise 2026. She was a top performer on Saturday and helped her team to a near-victory in the Championship game. Annika proved all weekend that she can shoot the rock from beyond the arc. She poured in three triples in the semifinals with a confident follow-through. Annika battled inside to secure rebounds and protected the rim as a shot blocker in both games. In the finals, Annika won her battle to grab an offensive rebound, then powered up to finish the contested put-back. With her back to the basket, Annika spun suddenly and attacked downhill to score a heavily contested left-handed layup. She was one of the best front-court players in the gym and earned All-Tournament First Team honors.

Lila was a complete player on day one of our PGH Michigan State Tournament, and she continued that trend on day two. Lila dished an impressive hammer pass to an open shooter in the championship game and displayed textbook wall-up defense, moving her feet quickly to force missed shots without fouling. Lila moved very well laterally to stop drives and was an assertive rebounder. Lila found the soft spot in the zone, climbed the ladder to high-point the entry pass, ripped the ball quickly across her face, and drove hard to cause a foul. She was a Swiss army knife for [program_tooltip program_id='714852' first='Ohio' last='Xtreme'] 17U, making winning plays on both ends of the floor to impact the team's success.
Maddie came sprinting out of the gates with a breakout performance on day one, and she delivered an encore performance Sunday that guided [program_tooltip program_id='714852' first='Ohio' last='Xtreme'] 17U to a Championship trophy. Maddie led the team with seven first-half points in the semifinals, draining a long wing triple, and wrestled away an offensive rebound to score a reverse against a scrappy B.1.C.E. team. When it matters most, special players step up, which is what Maddie did in the finals. She used a sudden jab move to create space and blew by a defender down the baseline to score a silky smooth contested finish off the glass. Maddie made smart reads with excellent anticipation on both ends. She converted a backdoor cut layup and anticipated passes to generate many steals and deflections on defense. Maddie expects to make perimeter shots, and she didn't allow adversity from three to stop her from making winning plays. Trailing by one, Maddie gave her team the lead with a fast break layup and sealed the 44-41 win with two clutch free throws in the final 20 seconds. She led all scorers with 16 points, including six important free throws. Maddie earned a unanimous Tournament MVP selection from The Midwest Scouting Report and Prep Girls Hoops Michigan.

Janiah was one of the best guards in the gym at our PGH Michigan State Tournament. She glided past defenders and changed hands quickly to finish efficiently around the basket. Janiah kept her eyes up when driving downhill and dished passes to open teammates for assists. She created steals with her active defense and split defenders with a burst to score layups off the dribble.
Ryan was one of the biggest risers in the PGH Michigan State Tournament, and she turned in a memorable weekend for GR Outkast 17U. Ryan excelled on Saturday and took her game to volcanic levels on Sunday. In game one, Ryan refused to lose, churning out a dominant 26-point performance. She lived at the free throw line, sinking eight, and buried two triples in the second half. Ryan continued to shine in the semifinals, fighting for rebounds with a relentless pursuit of the ball. She swiped the ball away with quick hands and motored down the lane to score a tough and-one layup in traffic--completing the three-point play at the line. She answered the opponent's triple with her own from the corner on the next possession. Ryan sized her defender up with a jab step and drilled a smooth wing triple. A play that captured Ryan's determination was when she leaped high into the air to bat down an outlet pass, grabbed the ball, and finished the layup with power off two feet. Ryan scored 12 in the first half alone and contributed in every category to help the team compete all weekend. She has been selected First-Team All-Tournament.
