Now that the Spring grassroots season is coming to a close, I wanted to take the time to circle back and highlight seven ladies in the Class of 2027 who stood out when I was able to see them. Obviously, this isn't everyone who has played well, but these seven stood out to me for one reason or another.

[player_tooltip player_id='1137310' first='Te'Asia' last='Briscoe'], 2027, 6-0 F, Purdue Polytechnic H.S. (Englewood), IBC 3SSB 17U
- Te'Asia used the high school season to add some consistency to her game and become an all-around inside-out forward, and now she is using the grassroots stage as an opportunity to let people know who she is statewide. She has a solid to strong frame, she's a good athlete, but she also has skill at all three levels. She can play physical around the basket, knock down mid-post jumpers consistently, and she can even be a threat from 3-point range.

[player_tooltip player_id='911978' first='Alivia' last='Dawson'], 2027, 5-8 CG, Penn H.S., [program_tooltip program_id='716173' first='Always' last='100']-Wright Black 16U
- I was able to see Alivia a few times throughout last July, and I felt like she had a lot of potential. This Spring, she is turning that potential into solid play, game-in, and game-out. She has good ball skill and a playground type of feel to her handle. She does a nice job of getting defenders off-balance and attacking the basket, plus she can step back and knock down the 3-pointer. With a little more urgency at the defensive end, she could be a nice 2-way prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='750718' first='Adah' last='Hupfer'], 2027, 6-3 C, Pendleton Heights H.S., [program_tooltip program_id='1002297' first='IGB' last='']-Morse GUAA 17U
- I feel like last Spring & Summer, Adah showed everyone her perimeter skillset. Now, however, she is showing us the complete game, and I think it has helped her recruiting. She has a strong frame, and she's able to walk her defender down to the block and finish in a variety of ways with her soft touch. Additionally, she is dangerous in the mid-post, but she can also keep defenses honest with her 3-point shot. Adah also rebounds and defends with effort.

[player_tooltip player_id='890800' first='Keara' last='Lipscomb-Allen'], 2027, 5-7 CG, McCutcheon H.S., [program_tooltip program_id='712570' first='Indiana's' last='Best'] NE2K 16U
- Keara put together a solid rookie campaign at Benton Central before transferring to McCutcheon last Summer. In her first year with the Mavericks, she averaged 12.1 points and 2.3 steals per game on a rather deep team of mostly Juniors & Seniors. She is long, fast, and shifty getting through gaps in the defense. She is a scorer first and foremost, but she does have a solid handle, good vision, and she can find open teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='756243' first='Macy' last='Loy'], 2027, 5-9 SG, North Central H.S. (Indianapolis), [program_tooltip program_id='821312' first='Ty' last='Harris Elite'] PRO16 16U
- Macy is still just scratching the surface ready to break through, but I think that could come at any moment. She is a nice athlete with some length, and she moves well in most directions, plus she plays with positional versatility. She has a good handle and is somewhat creative, she has touch on the perimeter, plus she can rebound & defend her position. What position is that? Anything from point forward, to shooting guard, to small forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='834925' first='Kylah' last='Patterson'], 2027, 6-0 F, Hammond Morton H.S., Example Sports GUAA 16U
- Kylah has had two highly productive seasons thus far, and she is another young prospect with great inside-out versatility. She is strong and can dominate when around the block/paint, plus she is bouncy and can finish over taller players. Kylah plays with a ton of energy, she can snag a defensive rebound, and she will break out in transition. She is creative, tough-nosed, fast, and always engaged. As she learns there are different speeds, watch out!!

[player_tooltip player_id='1137351' first='Marlo' last='Thorne'], 2027, 6-2 C, Vincennes Lincoln H.S., [program_tooltip program_id='715847' first='Southern' last='Indiana Mavericks'] 16U
- Marlo is just starting to figure it all out, and I think playing this Spring has really helped her understanding and all-around game. She is extremely long and wiry, possibly still growing. But she'll get out and run the floor well, she'll chase down rebounds in addition to boxing out, plus she has the potential to be a great "help" side defender, blocking/altering shots consistently each time out. I expect her to be even better in July after a solid June with her school team.
