We’ve talked about “K.P.” quite a bit throughout her career, and it’s crazy to think she has just one season left. She is one of the best athletes in the state, regardless of class or position. She made a change in grassroots programs this Spring, and she is still looking like herself…chasing down rebounds outside of her area, pushing the ball 100 mph in transition, creating for teammates off the dribble, and scoring the ball from all three levels. Because of her nonstop motor and all-out mentality, she will likely “fit” certain programs better than others, and I’m curious to see who steps up with offers.

‘s scoring ability immediately makes her one of the more intriguing wing players in the class. As a high-scoring small forward, Patterson combines size, athleticism, and offensive versatility to create difficult matchups for opponents.
She attacks downhill aggressively, finishes through contact, and continues to expand her perimeter scoring ability. Patterson also contributes on the glass and competes defensively, giving her strong all-around value. Players who can consistently score at a high level while impacting multiple positions often rise quickly in statewide discussions, and Patterson has shown the tools to do exactly that.

The “state” should see a lot more of KP this year, as she is playing grassroots ball out of Indianapolis now. She has been on big stages with her former Chicago group, and they are talented, without question. But I’m not sure she has played with this many skilled perimeter shooters who can open up space for her to operate. KP is a driver/creator, but she’s also built powerfully and athletically. If she can get downhill at all, it’s a bucket. She’s also versatile, hard-working, and she has a great nose for the ball.

While she might not be overly well-known on a statewide platform, Kylah was an easy selection for me with this group. She brings a talented, skillful toolbox with her, and she definitely goes to work each time out, averaging 27.2 points, 15.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 5.0 steals per game. While she won’t have to with this group, “KP” could almost play all five positions if needed. She has good size & strength, bounce, and a nice complement of skills. She can handle it in transition, create in the halfcourt for herself or teammates, plus she has drastically improved as a perimeter shooter (20-56, 36%). Division I coaches have taken notice!

While Kylah is beginning to make a lot more noise in terms of her recruiting among college coaches, she is still somewhat of an unknown by the casual fan throughout the state. Additionally, while “K.P.” has posted extraordinary scoring and rebounding numbers during her first 2 1/2 seasons at Morton, she has also proven to be both a willing and a capable passer. This year, she has doubled her assist output (from 2.5 apg to 5.2 apg) from her Sophomore year. She’s also averaging career highs in points per game, rebounds per game, and steals per game. At her size, and with her strength, she truly is a matchup nightmare for opposing coaches/teams.

is another talented young player out of Northwest Indiana who continues to prove herself as a high-impact prospect. At her size, she brings impressive versatility, showing the ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Offensively, Kylah is creative with the basketball, using her handle and length to get to the rim consistently. She scores efficiently at all three levels, but what stands out is her ability to create opportunities for herself and her teammates. On the defensive end, she uses her size and instincts to disrupt passing lanes, generate steals, and turn defense into transition offense. Her production speaks for itself last season she averaged nearly 25 points per game while also leading her team in both assists and rebounds. That all-around impact makes her one of the most complete and valuable players in the region.

Kylah has been everything for the Governors of Hammond’s Oliver P. Morton High School the last two years, but according to multiple social media posts, she is attending the Example Academy in Chicago, Illinois, this season. Kylah is an absolute force on the floor, as she is built like a power forward, but she possesses wing skill and athleticism. She can handle it and create offense for herself or others, she can score it from all three levels, and she plays with an outstanding motor that helps here defensively and on the boards.

Kylah is one of the most talented prospects most people statewide don’t know much about. She is strong, long, and athletic in most directions. As a Freshman, she was probably best described as controlled chaos on the floor, but this year she is playing with a bit more patience, a better all-around feel, and much more efficiency in her game. She can create off the dribble, knock down a rhythm jumper, or use her size & physicality productively inside the arc.

One of the more dominant players, for Example, was on display this weekend. She has a ton of athleticism and a feel for the game that isn’t matched by many players in this division. She was the main reason why they put up a blowout game against the IN Showcase.

of Example Academy 2027 UA has a non-stop motor. When you combined that along with her physical strength and natural height at 5’11/6’0, you get a producer on both ends. Patterson is strong enough that it doesn’t matter if you contest well enough at the rim or not. She is still going to get the shot up and she is still going to make it a majority of the time. Patterson was the “X-factor” in her team’s 18 point comeback on Saturday morning. She was relentless while going toward the bucket and no one could stop her. She also played respectable defense, rebounded adequately, and she didn’t seem to make too many mistakes when it mattered. I’m going to evaluate a lot of solid hoopers this weekend and I’m sure that Patterson will be one of the best I see. The natural gifts she has been given are second-to-none. Now she just needs to keep working.
