She is a player who does the little things to "gain" the competitive edge. She was impressive over the live period and her growth as a point guard was on display. She impressed coaches with her ability to start the break, run the break, and finish the break. Her ability to play inside - posting up smaller guards was on display and she showed the versatility to step outside and knock down the three point shot. She dives on the floor for loose balls who is trusted on the floor with the ball in her hand. She made some big plays over the weekend and knocked down the big shots time and time again. Young is a player who continues to grow. The young guard is getting better and will be a problem for the next few years. Speed kills and Smith showed plenty of it all weekend long. She showed an ability to steal the ball, get by defenders and score the basket. Smith averaged 23.7 points per game and knows how to put the ball in the basket. The young guard is a play-making guard who makes the right plays on the floor. or just blow past a defender to the basket. Smith plays big at times with her ability to block shots and rebound he basketball. She put the basketball community on notice - she is a player to contend with.
