Without question she is one the best guards in the State and her game continues to expand. Maria Young continues to be the leader of her young Orange Park squad. She's not flashy, but she does get the job done. Over the last year, she's embraced the leadership role. Young is more vocal, more poised, and sets the example for the 7 to 8 underclassmen on her team. She also sets the example with her play. She can shoot the three, especially when in rhythm. She also does a good job of setting up her teammates for shots in the offensive sets. Young also plays strong defense and is a nightmare on the ball. She is a player who continues to grind. She is underrated, but she is a baller who continues to rise.
