To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover five individuals out of this 2028 Class in Iowa, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.

[player_tooltip player_id='880904' first='Ellie' last='Sievers'] moves up a few sports in this 2028 Update following the Spring AAU season she just put together. Sievers is a crafty CG with a lot of skill and smart in this game. She was someone we heard and saw consistently last Winter for her Freshman campaign. Which I'm sure will be the case once again this upcoming season. Sievers is a three level scoring CG, that can also create for others in the blink of an eye. She has better than average athleticism and she seems to always make the right play when in the heat of competition. I'm excited to see what Sievers puts together these next three years. She has a high potential, she just needs to continue to work to unlock that.

The combination of skill, size, and motor that [player_tooltip player_id='913222' first='Julia' last='Van Keuren'] has been competing with as of late has been noteworthy and that puts her into the Top 12 in her Class at this point. Van Keuren is slowly becoming a well-rounded prospect day-by-day. She continues to grind in her off-seasons and it's starting to really come to the fore-front. This is someone that could make it to a D1 roster one day in the correct circumstances. She has all the intangibles you need to be great, now it's all about stacking those days whomever she can. If she does that, watch out.

When you are consistent, it's noticeable and that's what [player_tooltip player_id='886125' first='Hadley' last='Riehle'] has been these past eight months both on the Varsity floor for high school ball and with her Air Minnesota AAU program on the road. Riehle is playing the right way. She is playing selflessly, as a great teammate, that is also producing in the opportunities she receives offensively. She doesn't take any plays off on either side of the ball and she is always willing to give it her all. Riehle is a college player looking forward. She just needs to continue to get better like everyone else in her Class. If that happens, things are looking pretty promising.

I would say one of the more surprising prospects that the State of Iowa is going to meet this Winter is [player_tooltip player_id='1091299' first='Ella' last='Subbert'] of ADM High School. Subbert comes into her Sophomore season at 6'1 and powerful. Last year she was somewhat overshadowed by their senior leadership but that all changes over these next six months. Subbert should be the focal point of their offense moving forward. Accounting for her back to the basket ability, her natural height, and her aggressive behavior, she should feast against most other programs throughout the Winter. We will see how she adapts to this pressure. If she can slow things down and handle it calmly, that will tell us a lot about her game and what she might become down the line in the future.

Very excited to watch [player_tooltip player_id='891985' first='Ava' last='Smid'] next week at the DCG High School Shootout. Smid, a 5'9 SF/CG, jumped on the scene last Winter as a Freshman with the Mustangs. She was someone that we saw here and there in big moments, making an impact most of the time she was on the floor in one way or another. As she gets older within the DCG system, she will receive more responsibilities on both offense and defense. She will be looked upon to be her team's big play maker in some desperate times, along with a few others, and if everyone plays their part - that should work out to perfection but we will see!
