Ferris Team Camp – Post Presence – Take 2

The Ferris Team Camp brought together a wide range of talented girls basketball teams, creating a competitive atmosphere filled with high-level play. Throughout the camp, the post players stood out, consistently making noise with their impact in the paint. Whether it was controlling the glass, protecting the rim, or scoring with strong footwork and post moves, these athletes showed just how important the inside game can be. Their physical presence and smart decision-making played a key role in their teams' success, proving that the post position remains a difference-maker in girls basketball.    Mallory, the post player from Grand Haven, was arguably the most polished and dominant interior presence at the Ferris Team Camp. She showed advanced footwork and strength down low, finishing through contact with consistency. Mallory controlled the boards on both ends and was a true anchor defensively, altering shots and protecting the rim. She also ran the floor hard in transition, making herself a constant threat as a rim runner. Her all-around post play set her apart from the rest.     Laila, a post player for Glen Lake, had an impressive showing at the Ferris Team Camp with her length, athleticism, and effort in the paint. She moved well without the ball, consistently working to establish strong position down low and finishing with solid footwork around the basket. Laila was active on the glass, pulling down rebounds on both ends and giving her team second-chance opportunities. Her combination of size, mobility, and hustle made her a key presence in the post.     Brooklynn, playing for Kent City, stood out at the Ferris Team Camp for her grit and determination in the post. On a guard-heavy roster, she takes on the tough assignment of defending opposing post players, and despite being undersized, she battles hard and makes scoring in the paint a challenge. Offensively, she did a great job sealing defenders to establish position and finished effectively around the rim. Brooklynn was relentless on the boards, grabbing several offensive rebounds and drawing contact often—earning plenty of trips to the free throw line. Her toughness and effort made a big impact throughout camp.     Ella, the post player for Catholic Central, continues to elevate her game every time she steps on the court. At the Ferris Team Camp, she anchored the defense with her shot-blocking ability, consistently protecting the rim and altering shots in the paint. She was strong on the glass, pulling down key rebounds and doing the dirty work inside. Offensively, she worked hard to gain inside position by sealing off defenders and creating space. Her presence was so impactful that when she missed a game, the difference in her team's performance was immediately noticeable.     Annika, a post player for Rockford, stepped up in a big way at the Ferris Team Camp with several key teammates missing. She made the most of her minutes, battling inside and working tirelessly to establish position in the paint. Rockford's inside-out style suited her well, and she played her role effectively, helping keep the offense flowing. Annika also brought great energy on the boards, fighting for rebounds on both ends and giving her team extra possessions through sheer effort and hustle.
