On Wednesday, June 25th, I headed to Canton for the Plymouth High School summer league. Attending different leagues provides a golden opportunity to watch as many different teams and players in the state as possible--which is exactly what we want to do. There were plenty of prospects in the gym to be excited about, and here are a few 2026 prospects who stood out.

Clara is a dual-sport star at Plymouth Christian Academy, and I was very excited to watch her for the first time in person at the Plymouth Summer League last week. She reached 50 career wins and 500 career strikeouts as a junior softball pitcher after winning the MIAC MVP award for basketball. Clara showed off her rocket arm on the court last week as she launched long passes to open teammates down the court. Clara has strong shoulders, and she absorbed heavy contact to finish shots around the basket. Clara scored a sweet fake-pass layup going full speed in transition and used a shifty low double-crossover dribble to beat a defender to the cup for another layup. She showed her outside range, knocking down multiple three-pointers off the catch and the dribble. Clara made a highlight reel worthy play when she sized up her defender using a retreat dribble, shifted gears, exploded down the baseline, changed hands to her right, absorbed contact, and finished the layup. She created many steals and protected the rim as a shot blocker.

Peyton is a Swiss Army knife prospect who contributes in every way to help her team succeed--she had a great day for Lakeland at the Plymouth Summer League. I noted that Peyton was strong and tough; she popped right up after hard fouls, would not quit on a play, and hit the deck to scrap for 50/50 balls. Peyton changed hands to score a reverse layup with her left, drove by a defender for a layup after a behind-the-back snap, and faked a DHO to score a strong and-one layup off the dribble. Peyton paused after the catch, used a quick rip move, and avoided a defender with a high pick-up to score the layup. She set the standard of work ethic with her on-ball defense and pursuit of offensive rebounds. Peyton communicated loudly with teammates during games and from the sidelines. She kicked the ball out to the perimeter after penetrating gaps with her drives, knocked down free throws, and buried multiple three-pointers.

Mackenzie is a guard prospect who gets to the basket, facilitates, and makes teams pay when they give her space to shoot from the perimeter. Mackenzie is a lethal three-point shooter and Plymouth does a great job of getting her open looks off screens. She drilled an open three and drained another long one up top off a screen. Mackenzie keeps defenders off balance by staring down the rim as she catches the ball. She paused, drove by, and dished an accurate kick-out pass to the perimeter for an assist. Mackenzie froze a defender with a shot-fake, drove by with a burst, and finished with an impressive high pick-up layup. She had a solid day at the Plymouth Summer League.

Annie is a front-court prospect who is on many radars after a breakout Junior season and she had a noteworthy day at the Plymouth Summer League. She beat a double-team on the block to catch and score a layup. Annie used a strong seal to pin her defender, got the edge with a forward pivot, and finished the layup off two feet. Annie runs the floor well and scored transition layups. She's an outstanding golf and basketball prospect at Plymouth.

Anna is a Lakeland guard who can bury outside shots and score off the dribble. She drilled a corner three and buried another from up top. Anna shoots with balanced feet and a confident follow-through. She used a shot-fake and accelerated downhill to earn a trip to the free-throw line. Anna worked hard to secure rebounds on both ends and scored a tough layup through a foul off the dribble. She is a multi-sport athlete, and I enjoyed seeing her for the first time at the Plymouth Summer League.

Claire had a notable day for Lakeland at the Plymouth Summer League. She fired shots from the perimeter with confidence and drilled multiple wing triples off the catch. Claire walled up perfectly to force a missed shot and earned trips to the free throw line by attacking hard downhill off the dribble. She used a jab step to create a driving lane and went by to cause a foul. Claire split defenders with a burst and scored an impressive scoop layup. She is a multi-sport athlete, and I enjoyed watching her compete for the first time last week.

Stephanie handled the ball with poise and had a great day for Wixom St. Catherine at the Plymouth Summer League. She won the battle to secure an offensive rebound and scored through contact for the and-one layup. Stephanie hustled to save a loose ball going out of bounds and drilled a straightaway triple off the catch. She created space from defenders with quick crossover dribbles and delivered passes confidently with both hands. Stephanie scored a sweet layup in transition using a high pick-up move and used an excellent pivot to finish an offensive rebound put back off the glass.

Evelyn gave Plymouth a spark at the Summer League last week. She anticipated a perimeter pass, deflected the ball, and took it the distance for two points. Evelyn moved to open space and drained an elbow jumper off the catch. She pushed the ball swiftly up the court after securing the defensive rebound and dished an assist to a sprinting teammate in transition. Evelyn is a versatile prospect who contributes on both ends for the Wildcats.
