Point Guards Shine at Ferris Team Camp

The point guards at the Ferris Team Camp put on a show, with several standing out for their leadership, vision, and playmaking ability. They controlled the tempo, made smart decisions under pressure, and set the tone for their teams on both ends of the court. Whether it was threading the needle with sharp passes, knocking down open shots, or creating off the dribble, these floor generals made their presence known. Their ability to handle pressure and run the offense smoothly was a difference-maker, and many showed they're more than capable of leading at the next level.    Peyton, a standout for McBain, made a big impression at the Ferris Team Camp with her athleticism and length. She played with great energy, pushing the pace in transition and showing off her court vision with sharp, unselfish passing. Peyton made smart decisions with the ball and was a threat from deep, knocking down multiple threes—including a deep one from the top of the key. Defensively, she was a problem at the top of her team's press, racking up deflections and steals. She turned defense into offense, taking several of those steals coast to coast for easy buckets.     Malia, representing Mona Shores, stood out at the Ferris Team Camp with her poise and control at the point guard position. She handled the ball confidently, made smart reads, and kept her team organized on the floor. Malia attacked the basket with purpose, finishing through contact for an and-one, and also showed range by sinking shots from beyond the arc. On the defensive end, she had quick hands, disrupting passing lanes and creating turnovers with her awareness and timing.     Alayna, the crafty point guard from Glen Lake, impressed at the Ferris Team Camp with her sharp instincts and smooth handle. She played with great pace, constantly keeping the defense on its heels in transition. Her passing was on point, threading the ball through tight windows to set up her teammates, and she consistently made smart choices with the ball. Alayna also knocked down shots from deep, showing her scoring touch, and was active defensively—racking up multiple steals with her quick reactions and awareness.     Ella, the point guard for Cedar Springs, put on a show at the Ferris Team Camp with her shifty, next-level ball handling and quick first step. She blew by defenders with ease and finished at the rim with crafty moves, including a smooth scoop lay-up. A true floor general, Ella constantly communicated with her teammates, showing strong leadership and a high basketball IQ. Defensively, she was relentless—racking up steals and taking several coast to coast for easy buckets. While many thought her future was solely in soccer, it's now clear she's aiming to play both sports at the next level—college coaches should definitely take notice.     Addison, the point guard for Rockford, looked more than ready to step into an even bigger role this season following the graduation of her sister Anna. She played with confidence and composure at the Ferris Team Camp, consistently knocking down shots from beyond the arc and attacking the rim with purpose—including a smooth Euro step finish. On the defensive end, Addison stood out with her quick hands, instincts, and ability to apply pressure, coming up with deflections and steals throughout the day. It's clear she's embracing the challenge ahead and is poised to lead her team with skill and intensity.     Hailey, the point guard for Catholic Central, played with great tempo and control at the Ferris Team Camp. She excelled in transition, consistently advancing the ball quickly and finding teammates with sharp, well-timed passes. Defensively, Hailey brought intensity, using her quick hands and toughness to disrupt ball handlers and force turnovers. Her ability to impact both ends of the floor made her a key contributor throughout camp.     Aubrey, the point guard for Manton, put on a standout performance at the Ferris Team Camp, turning heads with her dynamic offensive game. She used a nasty crossover to shake defenders and had total control of the ball, creating space with ease. Aubrey knocked down multiple step-back threes, attacked the lane with a smooth floater, and scored efficiently at all three levels. Defensively, she held her own, staying active and engaged on that end of the floor. Her ability to break down defenses and create her own shot made her one of the most exciting guards to watch at camp.
