There was a speaker today who said, "Success leaves clues," and there were plenty of prospects who left clues pointing to their future. The camp was organized, fast-paced, and challenging, designed to put prospects in situations that would thoroughly evaluate them by the staff. Campers had numbered/colored pennies that made it easy to transition between games, evaluate, and provide media coverage for some new faces. The environment truly felt like an elite camp because of the structure and quality of the prospects in the gym. I learned new drills that I'm excited to use in the future, and had a blast watching some of my favorite prospects compete together in a high-stakes environment. Here are several prospects who were top performers yesterday.

Jozelynn was aggressive and in all-out attack mode on the court at GVSU Elite Camp--she separated herself today. Jozelynn drained a corner three, finished a bunny off two, and scored an offensive rebound put back. One of her most explosive plays was a crossover, hesitation drive by where she changed hands at the rim to finish with a stretch layup at the rim. Jozelynn used her length to cause missed shots on defense and pushed the ball quickly in transition. She picked up offers from Wayne State and Northern Michigan recently--it's clear to see why.

Brooklyn had another strong elite camp performance at GVSU yesterday. She keeps showing up and balling out in big situations against top prospects. Brooklyn was a playmaker for her team in every category at camp. She chased down rebounds, scrapped for 50/50 balls, created many steals, and was an excellent facilitator. Brooklyn drained a three-pointer in the slot and read the opponent's mind, picking off a lackadaisical pass in the backcourt to score an easy layup. She converted several layups with breakneck speed off the dribble and kept defenders off balance with her shifty crossover dribbles. Brooklyn got downhill, drew the help defender, then dished a bounce pass on the money for an assist. She's a point guard who consistently proves her value as a college prospect with days like this.

Kloe handled the ball confidently with both hands and created space with a variety of crossover dribbles. She was an active rebounder on both ends and buried a corner three. Kloe snagged an offensive board and scored the put back. She grabbed a defensive board and fired a long pass up the court for an assist. Kloe put a defender in jail after a quick crossover dribble in transition and delivered a perfect overhead pass to a cutter. She knocked down free throws, drained a wing three, and avoided a defender on a hard baseline drive to score a tough layup. Khlo made plays all day at GVSU Elite Camp.

Lily separated herself as one of the best defenders in the gym at GVSU Elite Camp. She used an explosive crossover dribble to get by a defender and score a layup. Lily beat a ball-handler to the spot with her quick feet and forced a travel. She created two steals on back-to-back possessions with her all-out pressure and pushed with a dribble burst in transition. Lily took the ball hard to the hole on a straight line drive and used the glass to drop in a floater over a defender. She ripped the ball low with a sweep down the baseline and finished with a strong layup off two feet. An athletic guard who plays lockdown defense is a luxury to have. Lily will be a two-way prospect to watch this winter at Brandywine.

Jana was nothing short of dominant on the court at GVSU Elite Camp. Her athleticism, length, assertiveness, and playmaking on both ends were separators today. There's a segment on ESPN called "You got Mossed." Jana Mossed her defender on a go route in transition, reaching over in mid-air to haul in the pass, then raced to the rim for two points. She cut backdoor to score a layup, finished with her left off two feet, and buried a wing three. Jana's aggressive defense created steals that she quickly turned into transition points. She hasn't hit her ceiling yet and provided more evidence for her high ranking today.

Graycin made the journey to the GVSU Elite Camp from Wisconsin and was one of the best prospects in the gym. Graycin's combination of height, three-point accuracy, IQ on both ends, inside/outside versatility, and physical stature will translate to the college level. She was one of the most methodical and efficient shooters during the three-point shooting warmup. Graycin closed out hard on the perimeter to block a shot, secured the loose ball, pushed the ball, and dished an extra pass to an open teammate for the assist. She jumped into passing lanes to pick off passes and scanned the floor while pushing the ball in transition. Graycin drained a wing three with textbook mechanics and made a smart backdoor cut for a layup. Graycin had a strong day at camp, and I enjoyed watching her play against some of Michigan's best prospects.

Brielle is a prospect I've been wanting to watch more closely for a while now. After seeing her compete at GVSU Elite Camp, I can confidently say she will be ranked after this next update. Brielle has length, skills, and versatility that shout college wing prospect. She's capable of winning matchups inside and on the perimeter. It was her all-around impact that made her a top performer. Brielle blocked a shot in the paint, worked to secure an offensive rebound, and scored the put-back. She made a smart backdoor cut and drained two corner threes. Brielle used a sweet high pick-up move to cause a foul and knocked down her free throw. She anticipated missed shots, raced in to grab the rebound, and scored the put-back. Brielle avoided a defender on a hard drive with fancy footwork to score a layup, threw an overhead entry pass on the money to a cutter, and swiped the ball away on defense. Brielle stood out, and Hudsonville will be a dangerous team this winter.

Mackenzie was a prospect who had a great day at the GVSU Elite Camp. Her decision-making, impact on both ends, and chemistry with teammates were separators on the court. Mackenzie knocked down a corner jumper and took a steal quickly the other way for two points. She scored many layups throughout the day, finishing effectively off one and two feet. A college-level play that she made happened on a hard drive to the basket. She missed because of a foul, but did not complain or react. Instead, Mackenzie turned up the heat on defense, applying full-court pressure on the ball without fouling. Success leaves clues--next play. Mackenzie was doubled on the block, kept her eyes up, and dished a perfect bounce pass to a cutter for the assist. Her aggressive defensive pressure and anticipation produced several steals throughout the day, leading to transition points. Mackenzie is a guard I'm excited to see with her talented Eisenhower teammates this winter.
