Whether they occur during April, May or July during AAU play or in June for camp month, live periods are always much-anticipated on the offseason basketball schedule.

The many teams that convened in North Augusta at Riverview Park for this year's SC Live Team Camp had to be additionally motivated given the laundry list of coaches and scouts on hand from various colleges and universities.

We at Prep Girls Hoops also made the trip out to the Augusta area to take in the goings on. We unveiled our initial list of 2027s that caught our attention and shift said attention to even more from the upcoming season's junior class.

Nelson not only bolsters the scoring efforts for Spartanburg, but those of the rebounding variety as well. Even though she is listed is either a small forward or power forward, Nelson's high basketball IQ enables her to make plays near the rim as if she was a pure five. This can include corralling offensive rebounds and turning them into two-point putbacks. Nelson averaged 8.1 points and 7.8 boards last season for the Vikings. She has also participated in track and field events throughout her career. The experience she has gained through the first two years of said high school career should serve her well in 2025-26.

Johnson has proudly worn the colors of 5A Division 1 River Bluff through trying seasons like last year's was even though the Gators earned a tournament berth. Johnson will now be part of a 2025-26 River Bluff assembling that has put itself in the contender's chat in a massive way. She played in 27 games last season and averaged 12.1 points and 7.9 rebounds plus two blocks and 1.4 steals a contest. Those points, rebounds and blocks averages led the team in those categories. The height she brings to the interior can enable a team to win plenty of rebounding battles.

When the topic is 5A Division 1 defending state champion Blythewood, so much of the conversation revolves around its big three which is returning for one more go-round with the Bengals. Championship teams such as Blythewood also have x-factors and Spain is a formidable one for the Bengals. She stands at 5-foot-9 and adds plenty of interior depth. Spain displays her versatility with an ability to play worthwhile minutes as either a small forward, power forward or as a two guard. In addition to what she gets accomplished as a basketball player, Spain also competes in track and field events.

It is only appropriate that a standout who has plenty of 3-point shooting accuracy wears the No. 3. The rising junior for 5A Division 1 Lexington played a massive part in the Wildcats' 18-6 campaign in 2024-25. It appeared that whenever Bobseine had the rock behind the 3-point line, it was like a layup to the 2027 two guard. Along with her basketball accomplishments, Bobseine also competes in track events. Her travel career has included a stint with [program_tooltip program_id='713828' first='Lexington' last='Hoopsters']. One can expect the Wildcats to be back for more in 2025-26 in large part because of Bobseine's well-developed game.

Goodrich certainly earned her way to varsity status following the time she previously spent in junior varsity. Recently, she has placed even more emphasis on delivering accurate passes and it has paid dividends for both her and her Lexington team. It led to Goodrich taking to the court in 22 games this past season. In addition, Goodrich can throw defenses off-balance with her ability to put points on the board via attacking the rim or connecting in the midrange game. She also previously played with [program_tooltip program_id='713828' first='Lexington' last='Hoopsters'] on the club level which is common for Wildcats players. Goodrich stands at 5-foot-2 and is an important piece to the winning puzzle for Lexington.

Williams is a rising junior who competed in 18 games last season for the junior varsity team at Lexington. A varsity callup for her would add to the Wildcats' depth in the interior – something Lexington already had plenty of. Williams stands at 5-foot-9. That is more the height reserved for conventional threes or fours, but Williams has occasions where she can play minutes near the rim as if she were a more conventional big. She also understands that playing in the frontcourt means getting used to physicality – which there is more of at the varsity level than in junior varsity. She has no problems drawing contact and getting to the free throw line.

Whether they occur during April, May or July during AAU play or in June for camp month, live periods are always much-anticipated on the offseason basketball schedule.
