For the first time in about three years, back in June we launched the initial watchlist for the incoming Freshmen class. It was our common practice to release the names of a few incoming Freshmen during our Summer updates, but over the past couple of years we had waited until the Freshman Showcase in September was completed before addressing the Freshmen for the first time. Our recent release included 40 members of the 2029 class, arranged alphabetically, and while we attempted to do our best at identifying the top prospects in the class, we surely missed a few who will be added as we expand that list this September during our Fall update. Below is a look at a handful of wing prospects who stand out at this time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1147726' first='Avery' last='Elijah'], 2029, 5-10 SF, Kouts H.S.
- Avery is one of the better prospects in this 2029 class, and she could very well help Kouts be a ranked contender in Class 1A the next four years. Avery is a long, wiry-strong, physical, and aggressive wing. She has ball skill and likes to attack the basket, finishing in a variety of ways. She has improving touch outside, she will sit down and defend, plus she rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263942' first='Malyiah' last='Evans'], 2029, 5-11 SF, Pike H.S.
- Malyiah is an extremely talented wing prospect who does a little of everything. She is long, wiry-strong, quick, fast, and explosive. She can handle the ball and create/initiate offense like a point forward, or she can attack the basket for scores, absorbing contact along the way. I also think with her athletic talent, she can become a versatile, elite defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263951' first='Lilly' last='Maple'], 2029, 5-11 SF, East Central H.S.
- Lilly is an incredibly long and wiry wing prospect, and she might have a couple of inches to grow still. She can play a number of roles as well, since she handles it a little, she can attack the basket, she has a solid jumper that will continue to gain consistency, and she can use her height/length on the boards and defensively. It should be fun to watch her each year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263963' first='Riley' last='Suarez'], 2029, 6-1 SF/PF, Hamilton Heights H.S.
- Riley is a taller young prospect who has an advanced skillset for her age. She can handle the ball a little in transition and initiate the offense. She is also a terrific shooter with touch in the mid-post and around the 3-point line. Riley is also a fluid athlete, but as she gets stronger, it could benefit her to add a more physical inside-out game to be hard to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263968' first='Ellie' last='Warfel'], 2029, 5-8 SG/SF, Pendleton Heights H.S.
- Ellie has three older sisters who were all a little different in terms of their physical makeups/skillsets. Ellie is closest in resembling 2025 graduate Kaycie Warfel, and from what I've seen thus far, Ellie might be even a little more skilled when compared at the same age. She has a lot of length, speed, and bounce to her athletically, and she affects both ends of the floor.
