AAU is over with and we are only a couple of weeks away from the start of school. Coming out of the summer, there have been a few Juniors who have picked up serious recruiting momentum in the last 6 weeks or so. Here's a look at a few 2027s that have the potential to break out in a big way this season.

Mabe continues to be one of my favorite prospects in the class. With her versatility on offense and defense, Skeeter does a little bit of everything on the court. With great size at 6'0 and the ability to handle the ball or play on the block, Mabe offers a unique combination of traits that make her a matchup issue for any opposing defense. Keep an eye on Skeeter as an X factor in the 13th region title race this season.

Players at GRC tend to suffer from the same issues that the ladies at Sacred Heart have in their careers. Meaning that there is so much talent on the roster that individuals can be overlooked because there is so much depth. Kyleigh is ready for her breakout with the Lady Cards this season as she has been a role player as a Sophomore but is likely a starter for one of the top teams in the state this season. Keep an eye out for Stakelin to become a double figure scorer this season and earn some scholarships over the next year.

Arlinghaus is a common last name for good basketball players in northern Kentucky. Alyssa is no different and is ready for a breakout Junior season after being a secondary scoring option the last two seasons. A good scorer from all over the court, Alyssa has been more of a facilitator than a score-first player until now. For Holy Cross to be competitive in the 9th region, Arlinghaus will have to create more scoring opportunities for herself and assert herself at times.

McElroy and fellow Junior [player_tooltip player_id='743671' first='Loren' last='Macy'] will need to step up and fill the very large scoring void left by the graduation of Leah Macy and Tessa Miles. Kaylee is a dependable three point shooter who can knock down shots from range with the best of them. If she can become a more consistent scoring threat off the bounce, Kaylee could be the new go-to scorer for Bethlehem this season. With her ability to shoot, the natural next step in her game's evolution is for McElroy to start finishing through contact and getting to the free throw line.
