Top Performers at Run for the Roses Tournament

I'm talking about baselines were full of coaches as our girls played with a lot of grit and determination as they competed for their prospective squads. So many of our young ladies showed out as they often do. I will say I was very impressed how our girls got after it and showed teams from out of state what Tennessee ball is all about.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>My next couple of articles will feature girls who elevated their stock at both Run for the Roses Championship and Run for the Roses Classic. Talk about a disruptor, her length posed as a threat as she got steals and tip balls that lead to easy transition buckets. She played with a lot of hustle and heart and caused a lot of chaos on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively, she finished at the rim going up strong and nail 3s from a far. She came off the bench and was scorching the nets. Hitting 8  threes in a contest , she was on fire as she helped propel her ball club to victory. When I tell you she couldn't miss, she was locked and loaded. She had a double double where she brought in 20 pts and grabbed 20 boards. Her sheer size poses a threat as she is long and lanky. Her game has grown as she has adapted to American ways. She locked down the painted area. What I love about her the most is that she plays with a motor. Despite the language barrier, this kid has come a long way and is definitely on a different trajectory. This kid just plays the game and goes at it full force. She can play along the perimeter knocking down shots, but also do the dirty work on the inside. She grabs boards, defends, and is essential in the screen game. She scored 23 points and had 4 assists as her team battled at the Roses. This kid plays with a lot of poise, doesn't get rattled. She's a heady ball player who understands pace and space, and exploits a defense's weakness. She has been on a tear and she's not going to be slowing down any time soon. She may be an undersized post player, but she is a difference maker. She can score the basketball, but her true value is on the defensive end, where she neutralizes the opposition and rebounds. Now, I'm not trying to take away the fact that she can score the basketball. The girl has plenty of counter moves that enable her to put the ball in the hole. What's appealing to me the most is how she works on the other end, and that truly caught my eye. A scrappy ball player who is always around the play. Defensively, she is going to sit down and guard and cause disruption. Offensively, she is going to knock it down from 3. This kid has a clip on her, and when she is in catch and shoot mode, you better believe the ball is going in. She plays with a lot of heart, and when she is on the floor, good things tend to happen.
