Just like we did with our "Under the Radar" list for 2026 unranked players, we add a first look at some 2027 players in some of Nebraska's small classes who could have a big impact on the high school season. We again keep this to Class C and D athletes and will try to dive in to the bigger classes in the coming weeks. All of these players are not currently in our 2027 Top-50, but are players that have what it takes to have a big impact for their schools this year and also play at the small-college level.

The 6-footer from Milford was often overshadowed by seniors Ayla Roth and Izzy Yeakley, but was the perfect running mate for freshman standout [player_tooltip player_id='884235' first='Shayla' last='Rautenberg']. Miller is a true post who has a good assortment of moves around the basket, can use her left hand really well and is a good passer. Underrated on the defensive end, she is an excellent rebounder and shot blocker. Average 10.1 points and 5.5 rebounds last season.

One of the best players in Class D-1 a season ago, Wortman led the Trojans to the state semifinals with a 12.2 points per game average. She also hauled down 5.5 rebounds a game and had 50+ steals and assists as well. A coaches kid, Wortman is a versatile athlete who also causes problems on the defensive end.

Cavanee was a calm and cool ball handler and facilitator for the Buffaloes last winter as they advanced to the Class D-1 state championship game. She'll be called on to be an even more dynamic scorer (12.5 points/game last year) this winter. Shined for her FKC Hoopers team this summer playing club basketball in Nebraska. Also a lethal defender with over 100 steals and plays with excellent vision offensively.

Seim's game continues to improve and she had an impressive summer with Lincoln Supreme. Growing to 6-foot has caught the attention of some small colleges coaches in Nebraska as she can play inside and outside a little bit for the Stars this winter. She led KC in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore at 10.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest.

On an unbeaten state championship team for the Crusaders, Dearking was a the perfect complimentary role player: excellent defender, good passer and spot shooter in clutch shots when her team needed her. Grew her overall game this summer on a talented Lasers team. Expect averages of 5.3 points, 3.5 rebounds per game and 60 assists to go way up this winter as Christian looks to defend their title.
