The summer has brought a ton of content from rankings to recruitment news, to just general top performer articles. However, as August closes out and school is about to be back in session for all, there wouldn't be a better time to discuss some striking incoming freshmen prospects. These are a couple girls that're ready to make a name for themselves in their new threads. These 5 players have the capacity to be highly influential for their squads and ascend to new heights.

Ashely Fontanella (2029) | CG | Ethel Walker

Fontanella is a brilliant playmaking guard, with a knack for getting in the lane and she's an excellent passer too. This combination makes her dangerous as she pushes the pace. Ashley is one of New England's brightest young guards. She's already proven to be quite dynamic in major tournaments, so she's not shy of the big moments.

Brooks already has an offer from Robert Morris for her impactful play in this past AAU season. She's been a 2-way staple for her team, defending opposing team's better perimeter players and getting to the basket with aggression. Anabel attacks closeouts well, creating distance from defenders attempting to contain her. Brooks adds a ton a value to an extremely competitive Nobles squad looking to make another run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1245216' first='Lila' last='Mccarty'] (2029) | 5'8 CG | Sharon

Mccarty is such a fun watch. Lila has shown she can score from 3 levels without hesitation while also making the game easier for her teammates. She's composed while letting plays develop and she also capitalizes on each opportunity the defense allows when scrambling. When Lila gets rolling, it's very hard to stop her. She can be a microwave scorer, having insane stretches when on fire. Mccarty isn't just chucking up shots though, this is upper-level decisiveness at its finest. This can be thoroughly defeating for those guarding her. Mccarty's understanding of the game is key piece to her game; not only is she skillful, but Lila's quick ability to process the floor and maximize each moment is commanding.

[player_tooltip player_id='1116049' first='Jordyn' last='Elwood'] (2029) | PG | Wareham

Jordyn is a polished facilitating point that's a force of an offensive initiator. She uses hesitations and makes the most of well-crafted angles to make plays for others as well as herself. Elwood is also very proficient using screens. Usually calling for bigs to come high to create the most amount of spacing as she squeezes around tightly, forcing the rolling defender to make a hard decision. Elwood puts pressure on the backline of the defense and compels them to react. Jordyn has topnotch passing skills too, so she'll find the open teammate in no time. The pure point instincts are what truly make Elwood such a significant prospect within the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='351272' first='Kaylis' last='Diaz'] (2029) | 5'9 Forward | MCS

Diaz decided to transfer to MSC and this news is absolutely thrilling. Kaylis has always been one of those players that could affect the game with just sheer effort. At the core of her game, Kaylis purely outworks competitors with her high motor. Over time though, she's been steadily adding to her sweeping skillset. Kaylis rebounds with the best of them, finishes through contact without seeking calls, is a pesty on-ball defender as well as a phenomenal help-side one too. The versatile positional value Diaz brings will raise the bar for MSC this upcoming season.
