The 2028 content that I needed to do is live, but I'd like to highlight a few more players in the rising sophomore class to watch in the 2025-26 season. I was impressed with this group of players over the spring and summer, and want to highlight a few more players before we move on to what's next.

[player_tooltip player_id='917718' first='Vonna' last='Shill']

Pius XI has had a strong backcourt presence for years, and Shill was on the outside looking in behind a trio of talented seniors who are all playing scholarship-level basketball this season. Shill is an undersized guard, but her athleticism will allow her to put defenses in uncomfortable positions and excel on the defensive end of the floor. She is an unknown at the high school level, but she has the talent to be an impact player for the Lady Popes in the next three seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='992480' first='Alexa' last='Darin']

The Kettle Moraine guard has a first season of high school basketball cut short. However, as a newcomer, earning minutes in the Lasers' backcourt wasn't easy, and she was the first player called off the bench, and was an impactful player when she was on the floor. I'd think she will slot into one of the many open spots in the starting unit for Kettle Moraine, and if she can stay on the floor for a full season, I would expect her to be an impactful player who helps the Lasers start rebuilding in this new era.

[player_tooltip player_id='991141' first='Keira' last='Bailey']

Last season, Bailey played behind a duo that helped lead Hartford to a state tournament in 2024. However, one of those players is now in the Big Ten, and the other is now at a prep school in Ohio. What looked like a log jam, then a role for her this season next to a talented frontcourt player, is now hers alone. Bailey is now a crucial player for a Hartford team that still has the tools to compete, and Bailey will be a barometer for how well the Orioles can control games around the basket. I'm eager to see how she handles the role she will have.

[player_tooltip player_id='992508' first='Macy' last='Stremlow']

I loved Stremlow the first time I watched her play last fall. I like her more as I continued to watch her play. Stremlow plays as a forward because of her physicality, but there are still guard skills that she'll show from time to time. She may take the volleyball direction more seriously, but if she continues down the path of basketball, she could become a scholarship-level talent.
