Today's article is the final one for August. I would like to use this article to highlight a few players who could be potential breakout stars in the upcoming season. Every year, there are players who take an unexpected step forward, and we'll look at a few of them here.

[player_tooltip player_id='1173395' first='Norah' last='Kling']

Kling played excellent basketball in the second half of her first high school season and was a productive two-way player who helped her program nearly reach a state tournament. In her second season, now that she has the confidence she built in her first season, she will be a headache for teams to handle. Her skill, athleticism, and two-way prowess could help her become one of the most productive players in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='889690' first='Mylee' last='Redman']

I'm eager to see what the Laconia guard will do in her first season as a part of the Spartans' rotation. Redman is a player who can slot into either guard spot and find success on the offensive end of the floor. She has displayed the consistency to play under pressure with the ball in her hands and has been a player who can create shots off the dribble. She is a player who could surprise people in her sophomore season and help Laconia maintain control of the Flyway Conference.

[player_tooltip player_id='874380' first='Olivia' last='Williams']

No team has been more unlucky in terms of injuries than Bay Port. They lost another guard to a knee injury this AAU season, and they've had issues with knee injuries in the past few seasons. Williams had an excellent sophomore season with the Pirates and was the most efficient she's ever been on the offensive end of the floor. However, with the Pirates' backcourt depleted again, Williams will have to take another step forward to help her team compete, stay near the top of the FRCC, and potentially make a Sectional Weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='751262' first='Kaelyn' last='Nommensen']

Quietly, Nommensen turned a corner on the offensive end and was one of the more aggressive offensive forwards in Southeast Wisconsin. She is a versatile player who can hurt defenses from inside and out. She stepped up in some of the most high-profile games her Wisconsin Lutheran team played this past season. Nommensen is an intriguing talent with her versatile skillset, and she has the potential to be an all-state caliber player over the next few seasons. She could be a player who takes the Vikings to another level in her final two high school seasons.
