The summer has brought a ton of content from rankings to recruitment news, to just general top performer articles. However, as August closes out and school is about to be back in session for all, there wouldn't be a better time to discuss some 8th grade prospects. These are a couple girls that're ready to make a name for themselves. These 5 players have the capacity to be highly influential for their squads and ascend to new heights.

It's not just the heart over height mantra that makes her an exciting watch, there's an advanced skillset that Brooklyn has. Her handle is tight, allowing her to freely move where she wants, when she wants. She staggers aggressive defenders with change of pace moves while creating some ideal angles to make plays too. McCormick works well with high screens and if the slightest gap is there, she's exploiting it. Brooklyn remains efficient even though she's a high usage type of player. There's a reason she's rated the #1-point guard in her class regionally.

Special things happen when Campfield has the ball in her hands. She's a tremendous playmaker that has some blue-ribbon attributes. Laine's ability to attack closeouts after exercising her triple threat options is something that may get overlooked, but is a fine skill to have. It's not just athleticism that propels her in drives; she understands how to move and get exactly where she wants to go. She sheds off physical contact well too. Some players get veered off their angle, but Laine remains centered. That balance allows her to be adept using her left hand and right hand to be effective. Usually, she's doing her damage within the halfcourt, but Campfield also has the ability to knock down shots off the dribble. As a confident player with the ball in her hands, she'll easily stop and pop for a 3-pointer if the defense isn't engaging yet. Laine is a staggering talent that can be a nightmare to contain. She's one of those players that needs to be focused in on at all times of the game.

Ally checks many boxes as a lead guard. She's powerful coming down hill with the ball in her hands, an absolute dynamic driver that gets deep paint touches, can finish a variety of ways at the rim, runs the floor well, has a great touch on passes plus she's proved to be a hound on defense. Ulysse has found a home at Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall; she'll have plenty of opportunities to grow and do some serious damage on the prep scene. Ally isn't a prospect many are familiar with just yet, but that'll soon change. There's no question that she'll solidify herself within the region as time goes on. Soon many will to get acquainted with the name.

It's been clear from early on that Danielle was going to be a special player. Watching her over the past couple years work alongside Malik Tavares with Locked In Basketball Training has been a marvelous sight to witness. There hasn't been a workout attended where Danielle didn't push herself. This is one of those players who doesn't get complacent with where they're at. One of the first things that stood out while observing her was the attention to detail she has. It was the minute aspects of the game that were being focused. Slight timing adjustments as well as getting footwork symmetry, but those are just a few to name. Danielle works extremely hard, finetuning her craft at a level that other players just aren't doing at this stage. Her ceiling is quite high, but what's scary is she's already this incredibly talented player with a high IQ, intense energy, a competitive spirit and a will to want to get better. She's certainly seen as a premier player amongst her peers regionally, but her aspirations are much higher than just that. What a gifted player Danielle is.

One of VT's most promising young players, Grace is going to surprise many within the entire region soon. She's already proficient in many areas of the game and she has some attributes that many wouldn't expect from such young player. Grace has a knack for creating separation from defenders as a ballhandler while processing the game at high level. She understands her spots plus she has many ways to get there. Bourn is thoroughly graceful, yet somehow just as powerful with the ball in her hands. She moves with a purpose everywhere she goes. There's no waisted or filler dribble either; Bourn gets straight to business, a coach's dream. This efficient and particularly effective style of play is exactly what the next level is looking for. Grace will be a prominent name to know moving forward in New England.
