These Young Northwest Stars Put In Off-Season Work

She came to the [program_tooltip program_id='713147' first='Oregon' last='Elite'] camp eager to compete and had her goals set to stand out amongst all of her older peers.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">She said the driving force behind her strong work ethic was that being the youngest at camp really pushed her to work as hard as she could. Zoe wanted to make a lasting impression with coaches and her peers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This off-season, Zoe has been putting in a lot of work on her skill development by attending camps like this one and participating in training sessions.  She's not afraid to commit her time off of school to getting better.  If an opportunity arises, Zoe is at the front of the line.  It's this hard work ethic and eagerness to improve that will take Zoe far and help her shine amongst those around her.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zoe's strong skills are shooting and attacking the rim.  She can finish strong on both sides, and she has quick feet and handles the ball very well.  What impressed the Duck coaches the most was her aggressive approach to defense.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zoe is known for being an impressive shot blocker.  She can sprint the length of the floor and block an opponent on a fast break. She's been shining at tournaments as a strong shooter. One tournament in particular, she played on an all-boys AAU team in Battleground, Washington. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a hard-working athlete, Mikayla has been involved in many summer camps. University of Portland Team Camp and the University of [program_tooltip program_id='713147' first='Oregon' last='Elite'] Camp were where she excelled the most. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mikayla has been determined to improve and get better in the off-season. Her goals this summer were to improve her confidence on the court and become a stronger offensive threat. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mikayla hopes to create a name for herself in her community. This season, she aims to be a leader in lifting her team up and motivating them to succeed. Her dreams and aspirations for the future are to make it to a Division 1 college. She values the WNBA as a motivating force behind her basketball pursuits. She has a good size for her age as a rising freshman. While being surrounded by many talented players, she isn't afraid to be aggressive and work hard during games. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zoe also attended the University of Portland team camp and the [program_tooltip program_id='713147' first='Oregon' last='Elite'] camp this summer. She has an elegant style of play that is electrifying to watch. She can shoot consistently and explode quickly to the rim. What made her stand out most was her competitive drive on offense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There was one particular station that Chloe truly excelled and that was when the camp competed in a game of queen of the court, where Chloe got to show off her offensive skills and attack moves. She was able to score 10 times in a row, matching up against opponents of all sizes and impressive skill levels. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Chloe earned herself first team honors at camp and showed her peers, size truly doesn't matter when you have the heart of a lioness. Her confidence and determination will take her far this season. Be on the lookout for this hidden gem in the gym. She brings knowledge to the game with an impressive IQ for her age. A leader out on the floor, Peyton has been working hard in her off-season, and it shows.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She was also in attendance at the University of Portland team camp and the [program_tooltip program_id='713147' first='Oregon' last='Elite'] camp. She helped lead the pack during games and collected quite a few victories along the way during team camp. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At the [program_tooltip program_id='713147' first='Oregon' last='Elite'] camp, Peyton was definitely a hidden gem in the room. It is her attention to the little details on the court that work towards her advantage during competition. Staying focused and in the zone are strong qualities that Peyton possesses. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Her goals for the future are to help Sherwood be a winning program. She has goals to make it to college on a basketball scholarship.
