Upperclassmen Looking To Leave Their Mark

In this piece we cover five individuals out of the great state of Nebraska. Each of these prospects will be Upperclassmen over the next year or two and they are looking to leave their mark with their respective program before graduation.   Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!    The multi-sport star that is [player_tooltip player_id='865483' first='Leah' last='Robinson'] will move into this Winter with optimism. Optimism that she is going to step into her Junior year with some momentum moving into the high school season! Robinson checks off a lot of boxes on the hardwood when it comes to the fundamentals of the game. She can outpace anyone that matches up with her because of her athletic ability. That's the stuff that helps her pack the stat sheet here and there. Within Elkhorn North's system, Robinson could be good for 8-10 points again while running the floor. If she continues to grind throughout the season, she could be someone we hear about more and more over the next two years.     When [player_tooltip player_id='777564' first='Kalyn' last='Bailey'] is in her bag, she is very tough to stop. Bailey, a 6'0 Forward, has some solid height, muscle mass to pair along with it, and some pretty impressive overall skill. She has coordination and a soft touch on the ball when attacking the bucket but she has also demonstrated that she can pull up for jumpers from distance as well. When Bailey is on, she is a true scoring threat at all offensive levels. Something that is beautiful to witness first hand. I'm expecting the college trail will heat up for KB as she moves into this Winter. If she takes her of business, Westview High School is going to be tough to stop at times.     Vanna Reitsma will return this season for one more go-around with her Bellevue West T-Birds program. Reitsma is a 5'7 guard that put up just over 6.5 PPG, while also grabbing 3 RPG on both ends and dishing out 2.5 APG. This Winter this is someone that should be able to put up even better numbers than a year ago. She has been working this off-season so if she can build onto what she has put in place as a Junior, she should be able to double her numbers in most categories. Bellevue West plays some "free-flowing" basketball and with some of their top prospects transferring out, there will be more chances of opportunity to everyone else who is still on board. Players like Reitsma.     I have a feeing that [player_tooltip player_id='928979' first='Jaeli' last='Franccini'] is going to compete at the collegiate level in the sport of track, considering how well she has down the past few years at the Nebraska State Tournament. JF brings energy, quick hands, active feet, and a great attitude when she competes. Doesn't matter if it's in basketball, track, or any sport in-between. As a hooper, JF has good mental awareness with situations. She knows what is happening around her and she is always willing to sacrifice herself for the good of the team. Like I said, I'm not sure where JF ends up but I'm sure she will have some options.     [player_tooltip player_id='895562' first='Charlee' last='Jeys'] is an undersized PF/CG, who understands how to play physical basketball with those around her. Jeys seemed to grow up playing out of the post because of her touch and bruiser mentality. She has shown that all the way up to her senior year at Lincoln but she has also been able to demonstrates a little bit of her diversity while handling, attacking, and facilitating for others within her team's offenses. You have to love when a player is willing to leave it all on the floor as a punisher. That gets a lot of respect and I hope to see that even more over the next 8-10 months.
