Last weekend, in Appleton, we had our third PGH Freshman Showcase. I enjoy seeing the new faces of high school basketball before the season, and plenty of players at the event will make their mark on the high school season this winter. Today, we're discussing all the players from Team Four of the 5v5 portion of the event and highlighting what they brought to the floor. We'll keep this up until we wrap up all ten 5v5 teams that played at the Freshman Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='977396' first='Mia' last='Deprey']

The Wauwatosa native moves well without the ball in her hands and should be a player who finds success as an off-ball guard when she gets on the floor. Her ability to shoot will always help her draw the attention of opposing defenses and space the floor for her team. I also thought that she showed some touch inside that three-point line, which will only make her a more diverse offensive threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='885926' first='Adalyn' last='Christian']

Christian is a player who can handle the ball well. Her ability to make plays with the ball in her hands will draw defenders to cut her off in the paint, creating opportunities for her teammates on the offensive end. I thought she was a player who could force the issue on the offensive end when she wanted to attack. However, her willingness to play off the ball and work to earn herself looks off the catch was also something I noticed in her game.

Jamilyn Chapman

Chapman is a frontcourt player who displayed multiple skills. The first thing I saw her do was space the floor and take perimeter jumpers. Her ability to space the floor at her size will cause some chaos when she sets screens for her guards. Any lapse in communication could lead to Chapman earning some open looks from the three-point line. She also isn't afraid to use her physicality around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='877604' first='Sophia' last='Milosh']

The Waterford native will be among the most talented post players this upcoming winter. Milosh is a player who can use her physicality to create space around the basket. However, her ability to score around the basket isn't what makes her a player I'm comfortable saying that about. Her ability to pass out of the post is a real weapon. That aspect of her game reminds me a little of what Gracie Grzesk brought as a passer in the post. If her team has players willing to cut, Milosh will get them easy looks at the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217431' first='Maddie' last='Brown']

Among plenty of talented players, Brown is the one I had the most fun watching in Appleton. Her ability to create something out of nothing is special. The Appleton native has the ball on a string, and you truly don't know what she's going to do when the ball is in her hands. There is plenty of room for her to develop physically, but there may not be a more entertaining lead guard to watch in high school basketball than [player_tooltip player_id='1217431' first='Maddie' last='Brown'].
