I took a breather after the Freshman Showcase a few weeks ago. We had ten straight days of content from that event, highlighting every player who was signed up before the event. We also have another sizeable event coming up this weekend, being The Expo. Today, I'd like to get back on the saddle and highlight a few players I'd like to spotlight before the event while I'm traveling for a few open gyms around the state this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='885270' first='Aubri' last='Elmore']

The rising sophomore is a player who suffered an injury at the end of her first season in high school. Elmore played through that injury, but when I saw her play at the end of the season, she was in some pain. She powered through the pain and made some plays for her Lake Country Lutheran team. Elmore is a player who can space the floor and knock down shots, and she showed she could make plays with the ball in her hands in a lesser role, but she will have a larger role in her sophomore season.

[player_tooltip player_id='910454' first='Aniya' last='Blackmon']

The Milwaukee native is a player who showcased different sides to her game this summer with [program_tooltip program_id='713328' first='Team' last='1848']. I knew she was a player who could shoot from the perimeter. However, I thought she did an excellent job exploiting mismatches around the basket. She can be a physical player and play through contact around the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275661' first='Jordan' last='Ohman']

The Menomonie guard had an excellent end to her AAU season with [program_tooltip program_id='713332' first='Team' last='Wisconsin'] in Louisville. I thought she played her best basketball in the July live period and did a solid job of putting pressure on the basket against the two teams I watched her play. Ohman is a player who could earn a larger role in the Mustangs' rotation. I believe she's ready for a more prominent role and could be a sneaky all-conference player.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217182' first='Bailey' last='Nelson']

The Nelson family has been a part of successes at Monona Grove over the past decade. Bailey is a player who took a step this summer and became a player who caught my attention in May and onward. She missed the last live period, but she did enough to be a player who could help the Silver Eagles take another step in the Badger-Large this coming season. I wouldn't be stunned to see Nelson make one of the All-Conference teams this winter. Keep an eye on her.
