Summer has recently transitioned to fall, and September will soon transition to October. Green leaves will soon turn to orange. In addition, another set of orange objects will soon capture the attention of high school sports fans across South Carolina and beyond.

Those orange objects are, of course, basketballs. There are more than plenty across the Palmetto State that know what to do with those round, leather orange basketballs – and those talents typically earn them plenty of attention from college coaches.

We at Prep Girls Hoops are always hot on South Carolina's recruiting trail. The Upstate has particularly seen a great deal of recruitment activity. Here are a few more Upstate offers as well as those we missed and are catching up on.

It was two weeks ago when Harris made her commitment announcement. Gardner-Webb in western North Carolina is where Harris will call home during her upcoming college days. A number of schools extended offers in Harris' direction – including Regent, Virginia Union, Presbyterian, Elon, Claflin and Cleveland Community College along with Gardner-Webb. Gaffney has established itself as a state power in large part due to the play of their frontcourt star. Harris wore 5A Division 2 Gaffney's colors on 26 occasions and averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.6 steals per contest. Her final season playing grassroots ball was with Charlotte Monarchs.

We now have a glimpse into what Christian's recruiting is looking like as she announced on her social media that Montreat extended an offer in her direction back in late July. Christian now proudly sports the black and gold hues of 5A Division 2 T.L. Hanna following a stint in the 3A ranks with the Bears of Belton-Honea Path. During the spring and summer months of AAU, she ran with [program_tooltip program_id='715414' first='SC' last='Lady Sixers']. Christian's play was a reason why the Yellow Jackets improved by three victories over its 2023-24 showing – not to mention a win in the first round of last season's 5A Division 2 tournament.

We close our latest recruiting update with a pair of offers extended to standouts from another 5A Division 2 school in Greenville. Johnson secured an offer from Wesleyan in central Georgia. She played in 28 games for a Red Raiders team that advanced to the 5A Division 2 Upper State championship game and will likely be fierce contenders to earn a berth to state in 2025-26. Johnson also sported the [program_tooltip program_id='715414' first='SC' last='Lady Sixers'] uniform throughout her spring and summer grassroots slate. One can place Johnson in a lineup either at the point or at the two. This coming season has the potential to be a banner one for both Johnson and her Red Raiders.

Jones recently was on hand at William Peace University in North Carolina's Triangle for its elite camp and departed said camp with an offer from Pacers coach Annalee Bollinger. Jones adds the William Peace offer to a previous one she landed from Allen University during the summer – also following a camp. She trades in the orange and brown of 5A Division 1 Mauldin for the red of 5A Division 2 Greenville. Jones played in 22 games last season for a Mavericks team that finished its 2024-25 campaign with a 16-9 record. She averaged 6.8 points and two steals last season.
