DCDHS Fall League Shout-Outs

She is a prolific scorer with a pure pull-up game, polished fundamentals, and athleticism. Sheridan buried two wing threes and drilled another jumper up top off a screen. She corralled rebounds, set up teammates, and created steals with her active defense. She penetrated gaps with her explosive downhill drives to score many layups, finished through contact, and distributed the ball effectively to open teammates. Sanyiah was decisive with the ball, and her active hands created steals on the defensive end. One of her best plays was a fast double-crossover move for a drive-by layup. She showed her athletic leaping ability by hanging in the air on a drive to score an and-one layup. She was very effective in screen and roll actions, catching passes with soft hands. Londyn scored multiple layups off two feet, including a strong and-one, plus the free throw. She secured many rebounds and finished a put-back. I noted that Londyn was a relentless rebounder with a high motor. Evelyn used quick crossovers to create space from defenders and attacked with a burst to earn many trips to the free-throw line. She finished tough layups, pushed the ball in transition, and caused turnovers with her defensive pressure. Evelyn dropped into the passing lane for a steal and took it the distance for a layup. She finished a hard drive with a euro-step floater and knocked down perimeter jumpers. She pushed the ball up-tempo with both hands in transition, used a shot-fake to draw the defender, then made a great extra pass in front of the basket for an assist. Naiya deflected a pass, secured the steal, and took it the distance for a layup. She penetrated with her dribble and made accurate kick-out passes to open teammates for assists. Naiya buried a smooth wing three off the catch and added another triple off a step-back dribble. She had a great all-around day at DCDHS Fall League. Makayla made a great overhead entry pass down low for an assist and showed her range by draining a three-pointer in the corner. Makayla crashed the glass to secure multiple offensive rebounds and scored a strong put-back through contact. Makayla worked hard to seal defenders in the low post and scored floaters with touch. She used a quick spin move, scored the and-one, then converted her free throw. Makayla ripped the ball away on defense and blocked a shot.
