Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Makayla used her length and athleticism to block multiple shots on the defensive end for Mystics 15U P24 on Saturday. She spun in the paint to score a contested layup and stepped outside to hit a smooth wing three. Makayla was aggressive on the boards during the PGH MI College Tour at Northwood and is a tough matchup for opponents.

Makayla’s powerful finishing ability, length, physicality, athleticism, and strength give her a ton of potential as a forward prospect. She can shoot from the perimeter, distribute accurate passes to open teammates, and win rebounding battles inside. Makayla will have a huge role for Country Day this season.

Makayla impressed with her performance at the PGH Freshman Showcase, showing a promising blend of size, strength, and skill. She’s a powerful post player who can stretch the floor with a smooth shooting touch from both mid-range and beyond the arc. Her motor stood out as she consistently hustled for loose balls and stayed active on both ends. With her physical tools and growing versatility, Makayla has a huge upside—and after this showing, she won’t be flying under the radar much longer.

This was my first time ever seeing Makayla play, and she impressed with her potential while competing for Team 10 at the PGH Freshman Showcase. She’s a strong post who can step out and knock down shots, showing solid range with both her mid-range jumper and outside stroke. Makayla also played with great effort, diving on the floor for loose balls and staying active throughout the day.
