[player_tooltip player_id='1098694' first='Kendyl' last='Aarhus'] was a prospect that shot the ball at a fair rate this past week during our PGH Iowa Expo event. As a Freshman, Aarhus shot 123 three point attempts, ultimately making 51 of those for a 41.5% rate. Aarhus's job was to shoot three's last year at a high rate and I'm sure she will be looked upon to do that again this Winter. The difference this time being that she will also need to handle, defend, rebound, and contain defensively a lot more as well. These things are all do-able at this point in the process. As long as Aarhus continues to grind, she will continue to see positive results.

DSM Christian is going to have a chance to go back to State again this Winter with the roster that they will be returning. Among those players is CG - [player_tooltip player_id='1325928' first='Lauren' last='Schmaltz']. Schmaltz saw consistent time last Winter as a Sophomore and she is prepped to see even more time this season if everything goes to plan. As a scoring guard last Winter, Schmaltz shot 88 three pointers, making 39 of them. (44%) This is a fairly consistent number for someone coming off the bench. She really showed that she can thrive as a knock down specialist within the right system. If she can continue with that this season, she should put up some more respectable numbers as the year goes on and DSM Christian should win a lot of games in the process.

[player_tooltip player_id='833955' first='Sasha' last='Baldwin'] is another hooper that will put up some more numbers this Winter while shooting the ball from deep. Baldwin likes to mainly pull up off the catch on the outside but she also has the ability to shoot off the dribble when the situation calls for it. Whenever she lets it go, the shot looks like it's going to be picture perfect. It might not go in every time but it always looks like a good attempt at the very least. I'm wondering how Baldwin and company will compete this season. They have the potential to win a lot of games. They just need to keep their eyes on the prize.

DCG has a number of talented guards on roster this upcoming season. One of their best shooters, that everyone should keep an eye on is [player_tooltip player_id='686901' first='Tessa' last='Jones'] at their SG position. Jones was one of the more consistent players last season from deep while shooting over 100 attempts. Jones ended the year going 52/119 (43.7%). This is a really solid number in a competitive program. Most of these attempts did come off of the catch from their guard-play creating for each other. Which just speaks to how impressive their offensive system truly is year-in and year-out. Jones is going to have even more opportunities over the next 24 months. She just needs to stay prepared, so she doesn't have to get prepared.

The Lynnville-Sully Hawks put together an overall record of 18-6 last Winter in their efforts. Someone that put in a lot of work to help the Hawks to this record was SG - [player_tooltip player_id='1325942' first='Kate' last='Harthoorn']. Harthoorn put up 171 shots from deep, cashing in on 67 of those attempts. Looking at it from an outsider point-of-view, this ranked as one of the higher shooting percentages out of a prospect that the state has to offer. Harthoorn is going to be someone that all teams need to game plan against this season. It's going to be her Senior season and I'm sure she is looking to make as big of an impact as possible before she graduates in 2026.
