The season is starting in just over a month, and I'd like to begin releasing my preseason All-State Teams this week, starting with the D5 All-State teams and progressing to the D1 All-State Teams on Friday. I'll have a first-team and second-team, along with honorable mentions in each division around the state. Before the season starts, I will also update rankings in the 26, 27, and 28 classes, as well as the Watch List for the class of 2029.

[player_tooltip player_id='751257' first='EllaMay' last='Cooper'], jr., Regis

The Regis guard has been one of the most talented ball handlers in Wisconsin since her first season of high school basketball. She's developed into the most dynamic guard in D4 and has become a more consistent perimeter threat. No matter who she lines up in front of her in the state, regardless of division, Cooper can make plays off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1134483' first='Gwenn' last='Elliott'], soph., Kohler

Kohler has a young core, led by breakout performer [player_tooltip player_id='1134483' first='Gwenn' last='Elliott'], who was the breakout performer in the AAU season. The Blue Bomber is a creative lead guard who has the size to exploit mismatches whenever she's on the floor. I was impressed by what she accomplished in her first season of high school basketball, and she has the potential to take her game to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='533058' first='Samantha' last='Davis'], sr., Aquinas

The Bradley commit is a talented wing who uses her athleticism to control the floor on both ends of the court. She is a player who can rebound at an elite level and defend any position she's asked to on the defensive end. Davis has been a part of a talented group of Blugolds in her first three seasons and played in the 2023 D4 State Championship Game. Davis will be a leader anywhere she goes.

[player_tooltip player_id='751244' first='Avalyn' last='Albrecht'], jr., Poynette

The Green Bay commit was among the first commitments in the class of 2027. Albrecht has been among the top defensive frontcourt prospects in the past few seasons. I've also liked her development on the offensive end in the first couple of years. I've also thought that she has the potential to become a talented passer as a frontcourt piece.

[player_tooltip player_id='992515' first='Sydney' last='Loerke'], soph., Deerfield

Loerke had a standout first season for the Demons and made her Deerfield group one of the most intriguing groups heading into the 25-26 season. She's a double-double threat whenever she steps onto the floor for her Deerfield group. I've also thought that she has a talented back-to-the-basket game that her teammates can trust.
