If you are looking for an underclassmen prospect with some decent skill and someone who put up great numbers as a Freshman, look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='1364798' first='Maliyah' last='Berry'] of Murray High School. Berry stepped onto the Varsity floor last Winter and averaged 15 PPG, 8 RPG, 2 APG, & 4 SPG in her efforts. I think the most noteworthy thing about Berry is that she can really do it all from the Guard position. She can score for you, she can assist as your team's top PG, she can move to the 3 while guarding multiple positions, & she might even be able to move to the 4 within some lineups if her team is playing small-ball compared to having a bigger lineup out on the floor. As a group, Murray finished off last season with a 16-8 overall record and they should be in place to make that happen once again this season if they take care of business per usual.

An elite dribble, spectacular vision, and an act for making something happen out of no where. Theses are just some of the skills and intangibles that [player_tooltip player_id='1203431' first='Chere' last='Ambers'] of Hoover High School possesses moving into her Sophomore season. Amber is also very dedicated to her craft. She is a relentless worker and we see that because of the skill side of the game that she brings to the floor. Ambers was her team's source of production in a lot of ways last year as a Freshman but she is ready to take it up a notch from there. She is ready to show the state that no one can stick in-front of her in the open court and that she is a dawg defensive. If she can do that, she is going to love the results that follow in the very end.

[player_tooltip player_id='502096' first='KeaOnna' last='Worley'] has debatably been in the spotlight her entire life as it pertains to this sport but this season will be a little different. This season we should really see if Worley is going to be able to take her game to the next level. The recently committed UNI Panther is now locked in for her college commitment and therefore, she should have a lot of stress lifted off of her shoulders moving into her Junior season. She will be the teams PG #1 and she will be looked upon to make all of the big plays for this squad over the next six months. She will have some help in general but overall, it's going to be up to her when we talk about how far this group can go during Playoff time. If she demonstrates that she is really is a D1 PG, everyone in the 5A Class better watch out because then CR - Prairie becomes scary moving into the Post-season.

Last season was one of reality for Dike - New Hartford. DNH is a program that dominated the state of Iowa for year's because of their mixture of high level prospects, their competition level, and their coaching but last Winter that all changed as they lost most of their top producers to graduation and their HC to a new program. With that being said, someone to step up for the Wolverines in a major way was PG - [player_tooltip player_id='863279' first='Payton' last='Foster'] and I expect more of that this season as well. Foster is this team's life force. When this group is doing well, usually it's because Foster is having a good game. When you are the focal point of a program, the real one's can tell. We saw that first hand last season out of Foster and I'm sure we will see it once again over the next six months as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='592198' first='Dreya' last='Kern'] will return to Linn-Mar this Winter as the team's starting PG, in charge of setting up everyone else for success around her. Kern is a good basketball player and a great soccer player. So great that she is D1 committed to compete at the next level on the pitch following this Winter so it makes sense why she is so good as a facilitator. She has great pace of play, her vision is better than the average, she is crafty for her size, and she is extremely intelligent mentally. All of those things combine to create one heck of a competitor and that's what we have here. I'm expecting this group to put up some respectable numbers this Winter prior to Kern taking off for college. If they play their game, they should have 2-3 individuals that we continuously speak about moving throughout the season.
