Sunnyside High School hosted its annual Inferno Invitational. Programs participating this year include Sunnyside, Pueblo, Rincon, Walden Grove, Flowing Wells, Sabino, Sahuaro, Amphitheater, Snowflake, Queen Creek, Marana, Sahuarita, Poston Butte, Cibola, Coolidge and Show Low. Below are some of the most impactful players of the event.

Espinoza can do it all. She simply dominates the paint. Rebounds exceptionally well (on pace for 1000 career rebounds in her junior year) and can advance the ball in transition to keep the fast pace going for the warriors. She slashes to the basket for the easy bucket. High percentage three point shooter. Is one of the top overall players regardless of class in Southern AZ that I've had the chance to see.

Gifted rebounder and tough defender. Good defensive footwork and quick hands. Has a nice step back shot she used to score a few times. One of if not the top defender at the invitational. Finished the game with a points and steals double double. A relentless defender who created havoc for her opponents. One of the better finishers through contact. Clark would be my early season pick for region defensive player of the year.

Handles the ball very well and showed the ability to play every position effectively. One second Rodgers is posting up in the paint making her move to score the easy bucket. The next shes running point and executing a successful offensive possession. She has a smooth and quick shot and a really high percentage mid range. Very strong and finishes very well through contact. Rebounds well, makes good passes in transition.

Bosch showed to be one of the better if not the top overall prospect at the Inferno Invitational. Vocal leader on the court. Elite passing and vision. Can effectively play 1-4. Shot the three ball very well. Very skilled in her game. Had a chance to see Bosch guard one of the top scorers in the state and she did an exceptional job. I expect Bosch to rise in the rankings very soon. Highly underrated and should see her recruitment take off soon.

Gamillo is tough. She plays with passion and purpose. Dominant in all areas of the game. Defends the perimeter well and shuts down the paint. In her game against Sabino, Gamillo finished with 36 points 10 blocks and 12 rebounds. Gamillo is highly under recruited. She plays the game with next level ability and has only gotten better with every showing.

Medina leads a very deep Sunnyside team. Communicates well with her team. Handles the ball well. Strong in transition as well as in traffic. Pass first getting her team involved but can score at a high level. Does great in the pick and roll getting the ball to its target. Medina rebounds very well. Forced many turnovers on the defensive end. One of the top two way guards in her class.
