To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover five individuals out of this 2027 Class in Nebraska, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

Alma High School is in a prime position to make it back to the State Tournament in a few months. This position is because of their noteworthy guard play and the strategy in their pre-game scouting. One of the best prospects that this group has to offer is [player_tooltip player_id='865335' first='Kamryn' last='Scott']. Scott competes at the PG spot and she runs the offense. She is talented enough on offense to be able to attack and score herself at a thorough rate but she really makes her impact with her presence. The way she can control pace of play and get everyone set up around her is a skill that will translate to the next level one day. As long as she can continue to create for those around her and she continues to be suffocating on defense then I'm sure this group will continue to have success.

Lincoln North Star is another group that is going to be at the State Tournament at the end of this season because of their personal on roster. This roster is LOADED and it all starts with their starting PG, [player_tooltip player_id='777563' first='Joyce' last='Johnson']. Johnson does the job of a PG to a T. She makes everyone else her better with her creating and facilitating ability while on offense and she makes her mark as a stopper on defense as well. When you combined that with a ton of talent at every position around her, you get a team that will win most of their games this Winter. As for Johnson, she moves into the #21 spot in this Update.

[player_tooltip player_id='928979' first='Jaeli' last='Franccini'] of Omaha Benson is a multi-sport athlete. Franccini is a State standout on the track field, usually getting to State and winning it in some way each season and this athletic ability translates to the hardwood. Franccini would be a prospect that beats most of her matchups with her athletic ability but she is slowly adding to her skill in this game and it's really coming together. To kick off this Winter Franccini has been a killer for Omaha Benson, helping them to a 4-1 record so far while making a bunch of shots offensively. If this group can keep this up, they should continue to show their promise and they should continue to win. As for Franccini, I'm not sure where she will end up once she graduates but I wouldn't be shocked if she was a collegiate somewhere, in some facet.

[player_tooltip player_id='1105870' first='Kenzie' last='TenEyck'] is one of the more underrated prospects that the site of Nebraska has to offer. TenEyck is a 5'8 SG with coordination, a soft touch on the ball, awareness, smarts when it comes to the X's and O's, and she happens to be fairly crafty as well. TenEyck plays with a calculated aggression. She knows what she wants to do and when she wants to do it, always making a valiant effort for a clean offensive attempt while attacking. Defensively, this is someone that is willing to pick you up in the full-court for a game or she can sit back and half and let you come to her. Either way, once she is on you. She isn't coming off until instructed too. TenEyck moves to the #55 spot in this Update because of how well she has started off this Winter season. Now she just needs to keep on working.

[player_tooltip player_id='909425' first='Marlee' last='Emerson'] always shows up. It might not always be in the same way each contest but when Emerson competes, she makes it known that she is on the floor. Primarily she runs the PG spot for her teams, setting up the players around her so that they can run their system. Defensively, she is very good at guarding her own position and disrupting the timing of whatever the opposing team is trying to accomplish. Which is what you need when you aren't the tallest player on the floor. All in all, Emerson has shows promise. She has a good feel for the game overall and that is going to lead her places.
