Most of the 2027 Class is still uncommitted at this time throughout the state, which isn't too surprising. Several players are still trying to prove what they can do over the next year during high school ball and during AAU season on the road. In this article we highlight five players that you'd consider uncommitted role players. Each of these hoopers brings fire, their own specific set of skills, and dedication to the court. They just need to keep on proving their worth as things move forward and who knows where they might end up.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

If you look at [player_tooltip player_id='753083' first='Rowan' last='Swartz'] best ability, she is a viable option for some program at the collegiate level one day. Swartz is a 5'7 SG with a beautiful shooting stroke from deep. She excels in situations off the catch but she can also put it on the floor and get to another favorable sport for an attempt if she is being over-played. Swartz is a valuable player because she makes good choices. As a shooter and just overall in general on both sides of the ball. She plays some pretty good defense to pair along with that so it'll be fun to see who steps in to offer her over the next year.

Another SG that plays a calm but noteworthy game is [player_tooltip player_id='881228' first='Emily' last='Lovette'] of Millard West High School. Lovette is a smooth operator. She knows what her role is and she knows what everyone else can do around her, which is always important. She can shoot and catch on fire from deep if she see's one go in early but she is also not afraid to drive to the hoop for finishes or easy assists. Millard West has a few new faces at the front of the pack this Winter. If all of those prospects can play their part and do their job, they should put together a rememberable couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1217284' first='Ray' last='Wegner'] has a lot of raw potential at this time. If she is taught the right things and has good instruction, she could be a weapon that most can't defend on both offense and defense. Wegner stands as a 6'1 with some touch and feel for the game but she just needs to continue to work. Coming into the past few years, Wegner had been homeschooled and not really competing against players within her skill-set. Now that she is at Norris, she has done a great job of adapting but now the real work begins. With the progress she has demonstrated recently, it's not crazy to think that some college program would take a flyer on her before everything is said and done. She has size and a decent feel with a solid base, which are all things you could build on.

[player_tooltip player_id='1118310' first='Hadley' last='Hornung'] has a quick handle, a shifty skill set, and some real speed to her game. Hornung is a natural at the guard spot. She gets downhill in a hurry and she knows what to do once she is in the teeth of the defense. She is someone that doesn't need any screening action or anything like that. Her first step quickness is noteworthy and she really knows how to finish in a plethora of different ways once she gets near the bucket. There are things that standout in Hornung's play-style. If she continues to work, she has the size and drive to make some things happen if she got a shot at the next level.

Bennington is poised to make it back to the State Tournament this Winter. Last season Bennington made it to Lincoln and they return most of that roster once again. One of their more impactful players on offense is SG - [player_tooltip player_id='777559' first='Haydin' last='Jackson']. Jackson can make some shots from deep. She seems to be more comfortable off the dribble but she isn't afraid to catch and shoot either. It all depends on the situation. With Bennington there is a lot of in and out action. The feed the post and that post player hits the shooter for open looks. That's been the winning recipe so far this Winter so I don't expect that to change anytime soon.
